Then that's actually quite understandable and what I'd normally expect. That isn't toxic and isn't harassment. If you're going into content meant for 385, then having 290/300 gear is very unacceptable.

And it actually does help to illustrate my point. In NA servers, the likely scenario would be some jerkish comment and maybe some arguing before the person is eventually kicked. In JP servers, they skip the toxic comments and just go straight to the kicking (or tolerating and then blacklisting depending on severity of the "crime").

To be blunt: I'd rather have people telling me why they kick me instead of making some false polite face and then raging and blacklisting behind my back.

Both behaviors are equally "toxic" in my book.

It's VERY easy to create a solid rotation.

Step 1. Look at the potency of abilities.
    Step 2. Look at cooldowns.
Step 3. Put cooldowns in order to take advantage of the global cooldown to maximize up time.

I think you misunderstood. They went in with 385 gear. They had all fresh level 70 gear, which is that level. They didn't have the 395 Poetic gear, augmented to 400. And you're missing my point, it's the same, on any server, no matter the language. And I've seen it less on this NA Datacenter then I do my JP Datacenter.

You get the odd ones, like recently on Titania, people rage quit and left after dying many times, blaming tanks for not picking up adds in a phase where no adds exist, me being one of the tanks... And I had to remind them, there are no adds, it's about avoiding damage while doing damage for the entire phase. Once all 4 rage quit, and were replaced with people who could do the mechanics, cleared it for the people who needed it for MSQ.

But mostly, people stick it out and are friendly, but I believe it's due to my Data Center vs the other.

This reminds me of a suggestion thread I made going on 4 years ago. Even back then, the consensus was that whilst parsing had kind of become accepted as here to stay, it was very clear that SE were not going to support or endorse it in any capacity. Be it good or bad, I don't think anything has changed on this front.

However, the gist of my idea was recommending SE to implement dummy versions of the most notable encounters as a sort of dodging and dps solo mini game in the gold saucer.

On top of that, having it track and rank your potency per second would be a great way to sneak in an official damage meter of sorts that's actually somewhat relevant to real content unlike SSS.

The rankings could be auto generated via tracking averages and percentiles much like a certain website. So no need to spend dev time adjusting it every time balance changes roll out.

Working off potency per second rather than actual damage done makes it mostly gear agnostic, an important factor for keeping things fair for casuals.

With a bit of savvy, I imagine the workflow for it could be streamlined and automated quite heavily as well. New encounters with more complex shared mechanics would be problematic, but more basic styled encounters that simply force a dance out of the group should be a doddle.

Even healers could be taken into account with this. Rank them for their DPS potency still whilst also throwing in an NPC taking auto attacks and busters that needs to be kept alive as well? Contentious maybe, but it could be a good challenge.

There's so many different ways SE could take an idea like this. Weekly leaderboards, limited time encounters, group challenges, a stage style raid akin to any way the wind blows etcetc.

However, it could be fairly argued that you do need parsers to play at the sort of standard required to kill Savage within the first few weeks. Gordias' DPS checks still linger in the minds of those that used to raid back then.

It's super easy to come up with the rotation and perform them on a training dummy.
Not so easy doing them in a savage fight and that is where parsers come in because you can look at sections of the fight and figure out where you erred.

Are parsers needed to get up to a satisfactory level that enables you to kill the bosses? No.
Do they make that journey a bit easier? Absolutely.

Also, don't forget about the fun of parsing and comparing yourself to others. Oftentimes in farm content, that's the only enjoyment you get out of beating a dead horse (farming bosses is so boring).

I would like to see you or anyone else back up their claims of how 'easy' it is to create a 'solid rotation' and, assumedly, adjust and maintain it in a fight where DPS matters, with some numbers showing how well they are doing (log rankings from the Extremes or Savage). Anyone?

Strangely, it seems many of the people who are saying they're doing really well without any kind of parser use at all, have either hidden their Extreme and Savage logs or those don't exist in the first place (because they have not completed any of that content).

What about when checking the efficiency of melds and trying to figure out stat weights? Even IF we could just do a little math and know everything, it still doesnt change the fact that parsers simplify the process and only Pc players have access to it.

    It. Doesnt. Even. Matter.
    You. Cant. Stop. It.
    Nobody. Can. Stop. It.
    Its. Going. To. Happen.
Youre. Going. To. Deal. With. It.

At least if they implemented their own system. Ps4 players wouldnt get the shaft.

Im pc btw. I dont "Need" an in game parser. I just firmly believe it would be fair. Half my fc is Ps4 players.

I would actually agree with this.
Though, unfortunately the Pc players can parse when and where they want. Its not detectable and so it cannot be enforced. I feel like enforcing good behavior is more important. Im very happy with the new tos changes that came out not too long ago.
