You obviously have an idea of what you want a Paladin to be, but it's not the "Final Fantasy" iteration of it. Paladin in it's current state, plays how they have designed FF Paladins over the years. If you don't like it, then that's fair enough you can have your opinion, but the vast majority of people like it the way it is.

Also the way you interact with people in this thread is disgusting, maybe don't be so condescending and confrontation and people will be more likely to listen to you.

I suggest OP to lvl up PLD up to 80 lvl at least before making such a silly statements.

It feels pretty horrible to play under 75 lvl, it gets better at 80 when PLD gets everything he needs, no casting time on spells, confiteur, atonement etc. I promise PLD gets 100% better once you lvl it up to max.

Btw, maybe you should try out playing a healer if you like to use utility and etc stuff? Healers are in demand, they get adventure in need very often.
SE will never deliver a full utility tank, dps is a essential part of tank design right now.

OK, ok. Sorry OP but your not looking at Paladin as what it is actually supposed to be thematically. Paladin isn't paladin in this game. Paladin is Gladiator. That is what it is supposed to be and nothing more. The title Paladin was a bad choice to give the class lore wise altogether. It isn't scripted, storied or designed to be a shield tank. It's supposed to an offensive attacker with a shield for personal defense. Taking it into the whole shtick of what an actual Paladin does in Heavensward and further with abilities like Divine Veil and all the holy moves I can see where your misunderstanding comes from. But Paladins aren't holy rightful protectors in this game.

Also. They can't give a class too much tankiness because it would cause healers to become irrelevant so in keeping with balance they limit your shields. Now would you rather have a hotbar full of 1 hit defense buffs or mitigation tools that mitigate like 1% dmg for 2 seconds?

Knight would have been a lot better localization than Paladin. For me Paladin has always been influenced by a combination of Dungeons & Dragons where you’re all about being super-judgemental to the history of the crusades which is... even worse...

Knight is a neutral term that, fully fits the theme of what the Paladins in Ul’dah do.

- Paladin HAD a much more utility, than he has now
- I've never said we don't need AoE, but I've said that Confiteor is out of place, just like the any damaging SPELL we have now. SE could give us much more than this, in field of utility or even damage, instead of AoE spells when we already have a decent damage AoE physical rotation. READ WHAT I SAY, and only then write your answer.
- Paladin can have offensive spells if they will fit thematicaly and will fit in his rotation. Now they don't. We simply spent all our mana in spells, then recover it back via physical rotation to spent again to zero. You know what that is? Bad and lame design. It's bad because it forses to spend one of our resources to full only to do damage, that already there. If they wanted PLD to do magick damage so bad they could've give us some REALY COOL ability on 20-30 sec. CD. Not this.
