I queued for Alliance Raid Roulette, hoping for a quick run before bed last night and well...rolled Orbonne Monastery. 75% of my party said heck to the no and abandoned the duty, and a good portion of the Alliance did as well. I understand the sentiment. That place stinks, but geez.

They need to fix the EXP levels for alliance roulette so it's worth our time to do the much longer and more challenging Ivalice raids. MSQ roulette is at least tuned so that Prae gives a ton of EXP in exchange for sitting through 50 minutes of cutscenes. Right now high level players just looking for EXP/tomes may even dodge Ivalice entirely by putting on low ilevel gear. If I get Orbonne and someone leaves at the beginning, I will also leave because better that then getting all the way to Cid, wiping once and voting abandon after 40 minutes (yes, this happened ).

I'm new to tanking and so with my DRK, I'm running low leveling roulettes to get the hang of it. I have to say I really enjoy it! With all the venting, I wanted to share a fun story. We're in Sastasha and 'm feeling out my healer to see how big I can pull. I pulled big before the final boss, and watched my hp tick down to 30 (eek!), even with Rampart. All of a sudden, I'm healed back up. I didn't say anything, but the healer chimed in with "sorry, I was watching the sunset and got distracted". Both of the dps and I got a good laugh out of that! We cleared the rest quickly, and cheered each other on. I love groups like that. If you're the healer, I'd love to watch that sunset!

So, I always groan inside when I get Orbonne, because it always seem there's a particular group (usually Alliance C, for some reason) that will wipe the group at least once (if not repeatedly) on Thunder God. Further, even if they don't, it's almost always twice as long as any other AR roulette.

Got Orbonne the other day and voiced this concern, had somebody go "nah, man, people got this, it won't happen, if you think it's hard it's probably that you don't know how to play." ...after another party in the alliance wiped us 5 times...they ate their words. (Granted, to prove I'm not always right...it was Alliance A that wiped us those times during that run, not Alliance C. Alliance C did just fine.)

AR raid got vote-abandoned after an hour of bad attempts, and I actually got the same guy who was talking crap to me in the new AR raid (this time it was Rabanastre). He opened up in /shout with 'At least it isn't Orbonne.'

I laughed, and then said 'hi' back to him. :P

Yeah, but a lot of people are bad at it.

Also, a lot of the voice clips still cut off, and it's really annoying. As if them never shutting up wasn't bad enough.

Ever since ShB started, I've been joining a lot and I mean A LOT of in-prog Orbonne. It's come to a point where I bet myself every time i see the timer for alliance queue. If I see 24+mins have passed, 9/10 times it's Orbonne (and I'm usually right). It's even worse when you learn that people bailed on the first wipe. There have been some runs I've asked how was it up to Cid--because it's usually the part where people bail--and the responses have been mixed. Some runs apparently, people were wiping or struggling right up to Cid, other runs, every thing was fine up to Cid.

As for when I get Orbonne from the get-go rather than in-prog, I've started asking myself if I should just take the penalty immediately if people are just gonna bail after a single wipe.

Orbonne is fun, and I wish I got it more for Alliance Roulette(heck, last night an FC member asked for DPS to queue in progress for it...there were at one point 8 DPS queued for it and that member kept saying that none have been joining, went on for 15min of me trying to get in to help them out)

I had a bit of a derp moment in the Twinning earlier. Final boss, LB2 popped and I may have been a little too quick to hit it... The boss decided to drop two lasers on top of me while the LB was casting. Both exploded and wiped the group. Oops!

Hey healer, if i'm down to less than 5% HP, maybe heal me instead of asking "Tank why you die?" when i drop to the next auto attack in E2s.

Or leaving me at below 20k HP when the tankbuster comes out and then asking "Tank why you die?"

Or not healing the party between Quietus casts at the end and then asking "Why we wipe?" when everyone except the tanks drop dead.

E2s is nasty enough as is without DPS only healers adding to it.

Still no clear this week, to think that subsequent weeks would be just as bad as the initial clear...You'd think the second time around would be easier...

While not exactly Duty Finder, I did have a "OH SHIT PLEASE DON'T DIE" moment doing Zonureskin maps. During one of the rooms, the Mandragoras(numbered 1-5) spawned. Number 5 spawned right next to me, just as I finished Technical Finish and pushed the button for that sweet damage....I think it had less than 50 HP when the skill went off because I couldn't see a pixel of HP bar remaining...but it was still alive.
