My experience with Alphinaud is that he spends more time DPSing then healing and is slow to react to needing to heal and often times gets hit by AoEs because of this. While Urianger will prioritize healing over doing DPS, so long as you are within range, and even to the point where he will take AoEs to complete his casts. Making him a very unsafe healer. Which is why I pair him with his sister so that she can dual cast raise him.

I much prefer Urainger as my Trust healer because he uses Diurnal so he applies regens, he has a skill he will occasionally use that inflicts Death on the target, and his version of Gravity comes with a 20 sec Slow and does damage to the entire pack. That 20 sec slow is really great for large pulls as it greatly reduces mob damage output.
