Thank you for the reply,
I apologize for the delay in our response to your concern. Could you try updating the drivers for the controller?

It took me years to realise that the official XBOne and PS4 controllers have the same intermittent connection issue because they both use the flawed micro usb type connector. It very slightly becomes loose over time and eventually 100% of those pads end up suffering the loss of connection intermittently if used wired. If you connect to them wirelessly they do fine, using an official dongle or other bluetooth adapter.
However they both also have other issues... the XBO buttons wear out, the PS4 sticks wear out and stop responding eventually. I see the build quality issues accelerated because I play excessively. I wonder if it's planned obsolescence because I never had issues with the previous 30 years of console generations. Controllers used to be 0% failure rate and then suddenly it went to 100% in the latest gen. It's not so simple to just go back to an X360 pad because those have the horrible circular rocker style dpads, and 3rd party pads have their own issues.
I've done everything from uninstalling drivers and "re-downloading" and installing the latest drivers to reinstalling xbox game accessories app through windows store. The issue isn't the drivers and you know this. The issue is what was discussed in the OP. Final Fantasy XIV for some reason causes Microsoft Device Enumerator to refresh. Final Fantasy XIV had me thinking my controller was broken but it isn't. This issue only occurs with Final Fantasy XIV and no other game. And as was mentioned before, my controller actually works with Final Fantasy XIV so long as I disable Microsoft Device Enumerator.
I started this thread in hopes that there was a more up-to-date fix for this issue that plenty of other controller users experience and it seems to me that Square Enix could careless or they're incompetent to remedy the issue, or the more obvious excuse, you guys don't have the resources or time to look into it. This issue is 5 years old now and the fix wasn't even one from the source as far as I could tell but rather from the community. Also, the amount of time it took for you to respond to me with "Try updating your drivers" is bothersome.
I'm forced to disable services on my Operating System of which I am unaware the repercussions of doing so just so that I can enjoy a game I pay monthly for.
Thank you for the reply Aezaeo.
I understand the issue that you are having and that it may seem that the game is causing it. However, if the Device Enumerator is refreshing at times when it shouldn't, it indicates that this component is malfunctioning and inadvertently affecting the game. Due to the variability of the PC platform, it's difficult to determine exactly what is causing it. However, due to the vast number of players relative to the number of reports about this issue, it seems unlikely to stem directly from the game engine. Do you have any wireless connections to your PC that could be causing this? Do you have any other programs or processes open that could interfere with it?

I posted my system info already, I figured with that information you'd be able to have more information for me in terms of processes that could cause conflict. As for wireless connections to my pc, I do have a Google Chromecast but that isn't active when the controller loses connection, i.e. I'm not casting anything while I play the game. Apart from that, as I said before, Final Fantasy XIV is the only game that gives me this controller issue.Thank you for the reply Aezaeo.

I get that from a numbers point of view, it would seem that since more people aren't having this issue while playing the PC version, one may think it's "unlikely" to be the game engine. But again from a numbers point of view, there might only be a very small percentage of pc players that use a controller, therefore, it's the reason why you see less reports.
I would suggest having the team look at this issue instead of passing it off to the user, I've read other threads in regards to this same issue and it's always the same response from the support. You've offered no real solution and I get that it's a problem which is hard to pin-point but the fact of the matter is, it's been 4+ years and people are still having this issue albeit a small percentage of your player base but the issue still stands. I ask that you please have your tech team look further into this. I can play other games with my exact same pc setup, same processes running, same drivers installed, etc. etc. and have no controller issues. So why only when playing Final Fantasy XIV do the controller issues occur, must be on my end right, doesn't really make sense. And it very well could be on my end i'm not denying that but it's supports job to guide me through a fix and I said before disabling Windows Operating Services doesn't really seem like an actual fix, it's more like a band-aid to a problem that hasn't been properly addressed or resolved by the development team.
I apologize if I sound rude, believe me I'm not trying to be. I just would like for the issue to not be swept under the rug because a small amount of controller users are only affected by it. Again, I posted my system info before so if you need to look though anything to give me more insight I'd appreciate the help.
