If you don't have a clear don't try to sneak into a farm party hopeing for a carry. If you DO know the fight PM the leader and explain. Going in and staying silent like that...that's no bueno. I don't blame anyone for kicking someone from a farm party who hasn't cleared it.

Same there's a huge difference between knowing most of the fight and just having gotten back luck with groups and outright trying to sneak into a farm trying to capitalize on an honest mistake. If you're the former be upfront about it and let the PL decide if it's worth bringing you along, if you're the latter don't be surprised when you're immediately booted. I like helping people get their clears as much as the next person but if I'm in the mood to farm something I don't want to suddenly be forced to help someone else get their clear under disingenuous circumstances.

No, I agree with the DPS and the tank. You're a douchebag. I highly doubt they actually gave you flak (although if they did, well deserved) and you're making that part up because otherwise no one would sympathise with you lmao.

You're more than welcome to learn the latest ex fight mechanics, try to find random people to farm with, and get that one random person who decides to screw you over because they wanted a carry. Repeated wipes due to failed checks, causing frustration in not only you, but the rest of the party. Potentially hours of your time wasted, and less people that are willing to party with you for said fights.

I've yet to step into ex and savage fights myself, even after watching the videos; and I can easily tell they're frustrating JUST by the people talking about them in stories in this exact thread.

No, Awful was and still is in the right for kicking the person. The fact that the people they kicked decided to harass Awful afterwards was completely on the tank and dps.

Just got accused of doing a "no healing parse run" in E1. "didn't use a single regen". I was healing the entire time, in fact I even got vindicated by another player who said he was using a meter - probably shouldn't have done that I hope he doesn't get reported - who said I had done close to as much healing as him overall. Good damage on whm and heals, I feel so good.



Well, to be fair probably not "good heals", but good enough. The heck would I waste my gcd on trash like cure 2, and regen anyway?

Just got out of a Qitana Ravel where the party comp was PLD, AST(me), SAM, and DNC. It was pretty good, and smooth....aside from the PLD using Clemency EVERY TIME they dropped below 60-70%(sometimes even when they dropped below 80%!!!) HP. I constantly had Aspected Benefic on them with Regen during pulls, and made sure it didn't drop for longer than a few seconds. Heck, there was maybe one time where I let them drop to 30% due to partial tunnel vision, but 1 Essential Dignity and I got them back to full before popping back into DPS mode(though they did use Clemency as Essential went off)

I just did Eden: Sepulture for the first time and despite watching guides died approximately eight thousand times.

So I don't foresee myself doing this ever again.

So here's the thing with Clemency: it's a tool the PLD can use in order to not die.

When you're talking about a DF healer you've never met before and will never meet again, there's no reason in the entire world to believe this person is going to take care of you. I've been in those parties where the healer just never bothers to heal anything until it's an emergency. I've been the tank watching my healer stand there with full mp as my cooldowns fall off and the trash pack kills me. Or stand there and dps while that happens.

Basically if I'm on PLD and I don't use the tools at my disposal to not die, then dying is my fault. And I really don't want that to be my fault. If I use my tools and die anyway, then that's life and I can feel pretty justified blaming the healer. But if I don't use my tools it's my fault. And I don't want it to be my fault.

Hey, don’t feel bad. The same thing happened to me. It’s easy to get caught in a pattern of dying on that fight if you don’t fully understand it. Watching guides didn’t help me when I died 5 times on my first attempt before they stopped raising me. I died 3 times my second attempt before everything finally clicked for me.

I never wanted to go back there again, but did so out of necessity and I actually enjoy that fight now. I’ll actually queue for fun now even when I’ve already looted for the week because I might get a group that needs help.

It can be rough but I think the big thing is just remembering the transformations and being in or out and which side. The rest is fairly easy.
