So is WHM essentially the only “okay” healer atm

I´m a SCH main since HW and Selene was quite niche. But for the case of needing her i had to have 3 extra buttons on my hotbar. Making her an EOS glamour was a good desicion from my perspective.Selene's silence was by all means useless, but they could've just work around balancing both fairies instead of outright deleting her.
Eos - basic heal, aoe hot, increased healing buff
Selene - basic heal, aoe esuna, increased magic defense buff
There. Eos is the generic mini WHM and Selene the oh crap mitigator.
I also like having the fairy abilities inside my personal toolkit now (even with the clipping).
SCH had too much buttons for my taste if you count the personal buttons + fairy + roleskills. They had to remove some.
I also lvled AST to 80 and the only thing that need changing is the seals not working when you are still outside of combat. They should work as soon as anyone in the party is in the fight.
I admit, im not an AST main, but i found the new card system more enjoyable. No more useless cards and there is enough time to gather the 3 seals.
Maybe its aoe attack could use some kind of secondary effect slow/paralize/silence or something like that.
Alternately, do what they did with SMN pets and make the buttons we press correspond to whatever fairy we have out. Now we get 2 distinct fairies without the hotbar clutter.I´m a SCH main since HW and Selene was quite niche. But for the case of needing her i had to have 3 extra buttons on my hotbar. Alas, if it's good enough for a dps it's too good for a healer.
Make SCH great again! Seriously though, we just want our class to be fun and engaging again, not OP, is that too much to ask for?
Would like to see the Silence stay, saved a lot of stress in Deep Dungeons with that. That said, giving Selene an extra edge so it's she's alternative, not a completely specialized fairy compared to Eos. Being an offensive fairy might be too much, but letting her AoE esuna and haste buff heal for a bit would help. Basicly, you trade a bit of healing instead of all of the healing for support skills. Seraph could be the heal-less shielding fairy that gave blind on enemies and sort of an anti-shield on mobs, then need to break out of it before they can damage anyone.Selene's silence was by all means useless, but they could've just work around balancing both fairies instead of outright deleting her.

I share the sentiment. I played the old Astro and compared to it, the new system is more enjoyable. To each their own, I guess.I also lvled AST to 80 and the only thing that need changing is the seals not working when you are still outside of combat. Yes, yes I know, SE is the ultimate evil when it comes to healers. They destroy all the good of healers with their evil plan.
No, no, it's not that they just had a balancing problem, which is why we did not get a new healer for Shb.
I have the feeling SE is a bit overwhelmed with the healers, but abusing and insulting them is no solution. All the "(insert job) was DESTROYED COMPLETELY" or "(insert job) is DEAD" or "make everything as before" doesn´t help at all.
I read the question thread of the LL and some of those questions where really really disrespectful towards the devs (back to the topic i guess).
They brought up a great point though? SMN has actions changed depending on the pet they have out, and back when the pet hotbar was a thing, same thing for SCH. So arguing that selene being her own fairy would just be hotbar clutter is nonsense because her abilities could realistically just replace EOS'.Yes, yes I know, SE is the ultimate evil when it comes to healers. And while they achieved balance, they did it at the cost of what made the classes fun and unique, and that's the worst way to do it. If people are genuinely harassing the devs over it, that's bad, and obviously that needs to stop, but people coming here on the forums to complain? That's completely fair, because this is the only outlet we have to tell the developers we're unhappy and we want changes. What else are we supposed to do? Lie on our backs and submit?

If SE acknowledged that there was a problem and stated that they would work towards fixing it, even if they had other immediate priorities, I'd cut them a lot more slack. However:Yes, yes I know, SE is the ultimate evil when it comes to healers. They destroy all the good of healers with their evil plan.

a) They have stated that they have no intention of fixing the healers (in the case of AST, and silence for the other two healers)
b) They said they were not giving us a new healer because they wanted to focus on rebalancing the old healers. Despite this, the rebalance seems to be done as lazily as possible at every turn. Can't balance card RNG? Remove it. Can't balance Selene? Remove her. Can't balance SCH personal dps against WHM personal DPS? Remove all of the SCH personal DPS buttons that don't correspond to a WHM personal DPS button. The fact that they used the SMN system for the fairies when it was clearly unsuited (because we only have one fairy now) is just another example of how they didn't put any thought into what would make healers better to play.
As far as I can see, we have gained practically nothing this expansion (with the exception of WHM, who needed the improvement the most) and we lost a lot.
I don't think it was malicious. I don't think they actively set out to destroy us. I just think that we don't really factor into their priority lists, and I am sick of that. After they neglected us when designing the expansion I think we deserve some love in the patches.
Well look at the bright side. Ninja is getting a rework, Samuria is getting adjustments, and Warrior is getting some work
Healers are "Balanced" now
