Making a second Character is not an Acceptable solution to this issue. A Character in FFXIV require a lot of effort and dedication. On top of that, this is a limited time event. Players who do not have 40 hours a week to play will miss out on a large part of the game if they are required to make multiple characters just to see it.

It is not fair to force players to Max level a second character just to fill in the blanks that have been imposed upon them for choosing a Grand company. A Choice Yoshida himself said would not have any significant impact on the game play. Yes, having consequences to your choices in an MMO can be fun. But the kind of consequences that are fun are things like Character reactions and rewards. Missing out on massive chunks of story line is a significant negative impact on game play. Especially in a game where it takes ten of hours to get a character to the appropriate level(without power leveling), then tens more to complete all the necessary prereqs and quests.

This Dev team stated that if players stuck around through the development process, they would be able to see a one time story line event as a reward for their loyalty. Not a third of a one time event. These three story arches may very well converge into one story line by the end of the event, but it is the ability to see multiple perspectives that draws players into the world. It builds lore and grows an attachment to the current Eorzea that will only serve to enhance the final happening of this "Cataclysmic Event".

Most importantly, however, is the simple fact that this game has an Excessive lack of story based content. When the dev team goes through the trouble of creating three individual perspectives of the same story line, it makes literally no sense to stop players from viewing it. Especially when there is no other story to see.
