Wellhead Lift in Ul'dah is Broken!!!

(I'm posting here, since I don't know a specific section of the Forums where this won't get lost. Please, moderators, feel free to move as you see fit.)

About 75% of the times I take the Wellhead Lift, out of Ul'dah's Ruby Road, to go to the Airship Landing, the game crashes on me. I haven't done a scientific test, but I think skipping the cutscene diminishes the chances of crashing.

Has anybody else been pestered by this inconvenient bug? Is it even a bug, or is it my own private issue? Please comment.

might be an issue on your side. I tend to crash at cut scenes occasionally as well.

I use that lift alot, I have never once had an issue myself, so I would guess its not a general bug.

Thanks to the three of you for your comments. I have spoken to a few members of my linkshell, and also a few friends in my server (Selbina.) Quite a few among them have been experiencing similar issues at the lift. Could it, then, be a server-related bug that we are dealing with? This problem never before presented itself, on this or any other cutscene, until a couple of days ago. Our stories are consistent in that as well.

it happens to me too...why does it have to go cut scene for something so mundane?

I had it crash my game when I tryed to skip the cutscene. This maybe because the game needs more time to load me into the next area.

I used to have a few crashes in full screen during cutscenes but switched to windowed mode and now the game runs much more smoothly.

I've heard of some ppl experiencing a crash at certain CSs, once it happens it continues to happen at the same CS or loading area.

Most of the time a chkdsk resolves the issue, give it a whirl.

FYI: open my computer > right click hard drive (where ffxiv resides) > properties > tools tab > check now button > autofix errors yes > attempt restore bad sectors no > ok to schedule scan on next restart > restart pc > scan will auto start

Yeah, I remember that my game crashed frequently during cutscenes in Full Mode, but when I switched to windowed mode, it rarely crashes at all.
