I mean... there is just so much that you can do with a bikini and I feel we've seen almost all variations yet (except for just throwing new patterns on old models, but that seems kinda boring to me)...

I for one am happy that this isnt just bikini #50 but instead something I might actually glamour - personally I dont think my Roe looks that great in bikinis so I'm happy to get something that looks nice on her instead of adding yet another boring bikini to my collection.

My guess would be that this isnt about "ethics" (such a grand word to use in regards to some pixels...) but more about trying new designs that are actually different from a 08/15-bikini that you can only take so far.

I like it. Already made an outfit for my sam, monk, maybe I'll make one out of the third top for ninja. Goes well with fashion report shorts, pagos hand wraps, (emperor's new fists) monk.

I mean, it is not something I will likely ever use as a glam (not because it is too revealing, but because it looks too casual for my character, and not in a playful way), but I am still happy it exists as it fills a spot that has had pretty little love.

One thing we haven't had is a regular one piece, but it might be hard to make something like that seamless. I think you are right, it's more about variety, 2016 didn't even have a swimsuit.

I recall some comment (maybe from an artbook...?) that they would like to make a one piece - since they havent yet it might really be difficult for whatever reason? We did get those very short "dresses" that remind me more of a one-piece swimsuit with frills, though... but I can see a proper one piece adding more variety! More bikinis however...

Nope. I'm glad to have the choice to wear something more modest if I want to.

Seamless isn't an issue with one-piece, more the issue is in that it's more complex to create (simple scaling and such doesn't work when it comes to different races, etc).

I can see why someone would like the art one versus the actual one. The art one looks like it has a bralette top, while the actual one is a tank top, kind of a different vibes.
What I don't get is why aren't they dyeable? They each have different designs on their backs, so it's not like they're just exact copy/pastes of the same item in different colors like older items. >o>

Functionally I think a swimsuit in the game *has* to be two-piece because it needs to have separate "chest" and "leg" pieces for glamouring. The short dress swimsuits seem to be their attempt at making something that looks like a one-piece by hiding the join.

And I appreciate the less-revealing shirts for a change too. (A little too late to be my Namazu festival gear, though.)
