DRG - How does Spineshatter Dive/Elusive Jump interact with AoE?

I'm relatively new to the job (never done any high end content on it) and I was asking myself how does the ability work with AoEs and mechanics. (same for elusive jump)

What happens if I use it and an AoE goes off in between me and the boss, but the landing point is clear?

How does it interact with "sticky" AoEs like the ones from Titania Extreme? Can I use it to jump over?

What happens if I use SD or elusive jump while being pushed by an enemy skill with knockback like the hand from Voidwalker or the jump from Titan?

Please help me, and i'd be glad if you could explain me other notable interactions.

If I remember, and unless they changed it, none of the jumps actually have any Z axis. so you will eat any aoe in your path that goes off. You can pretty much bet on it. The two skills can be used to negate knockback if you use it while you are in the effects of the knockback. I also think the skill Jump/High Jump puts you in two places simulatenously. So if you have an aoe at your start point and you jump at the boss, even though you are at the boss you will still take damage, and visa versa if you jump and the boss has an aoe around him you will take damage.

In Titania Ex for example, you can jump over the vines after add phase without getting hit by the dot/root. I haven't fully tested whether a ground aoe that goes off while in mid jump will hit you or not. Not sure if this helps, but hopefully it does.

So let's say i go south to break chains and then the tanks are in the small space between vines in the north side of the arena. Can i close gap with Spineshatter to avoid the vines? That would be huge

From what I remember while playing it, your collision box basically slide from one point to the other: if there anything harmful in the way you will get hit by it. However, if you really want to be sure, pair up with a healer, have him cast asylum/Sacred Soil/Collective Unconscious between you and a dummy and try jumping across to see if you get the buff

It's mostly because of the jump speed. You don't stay in vines long enough to the game to notice you were in. But if you do an elusive jump with a bad angle, you will get root on landing.

Elusive Jump is basically a reverse-slide. You aren't actually "leaping" despite the character animation. Because EJ is -relatively- slow, you will occasionally be affected by crossing over damage floors/puddles with EJ for example Titania's growth runes. Compared to much faster gap-closers like Corp-a-Corps, Shoulder Tackle, which don't usually get affected

I've done Titania Ex a significant amount and I'm able to clear the roots with Spineshatter Dive 100% of the time but I'd say 10% of the time I get the debuffs upon landing at Titania. It's a frustrating thing but it's down to unlucky server ticks.

And even then, I'm not trying my luck with Corps-a-Corps over puddles because it is still a sliding collision box move.. Maybe the server will not "notice", maybe it will.. it's a gamble

When i Elusive jumped sometimes in that fight or spine shattered over those i can confirm that it hit me a lot more often with elusive jump and would tether me by the boss, which is kinda shameful, if they made it a bit faster to prevent that it would be nice, but i'm just glad its on a 30 second timer now.
