Hrothgar Review

I'm personally not super-concerned about the headgear issue...but please for the love of all that is holy let me change my hairstyle without requiring a fantasia.

After seeing SE finfacial reports of this year, they need to grow XIV developers team, we should demand it as customers or we get more limited stuff, unfinished races and new "limited classes".
I feel like sometimes people forgot that they are paying for this product and have right to demand qiality control.

Is it actually possible for them to do that without them messing up fantasias? Not trying to defend them or anything, I'm simply curious if there's anything that would stop them from doing this in regards to how Fantasias actually work.

That's not my point. My point is that yoshida did not promise he will make hats/helms work on the new races. If the devs decided against yoshida wishes to implement them, we'll all be thankful. But the problem is character creation currently did not even state or warn new and existing players that the 2 new races will not have hats/helmets be displayed or hairs will be attached to faces, so bascially it's not providing enough information on what these 2 races can or cannot do.

I'm thinking it is actually a limitation, but they designed themselves in a corner I think by doing it the way they did. They should be the ones to fix this for hrothgar players, especially if they add more faces like they said they were. A fantasia every change is ridiculous.

I just don't think this is plausiable. Give as helmets and let my bunny ears just bleed through dammit. Hrothgar is more difficult understandably, but Viera have normal faces and only ears on the top of their head. I don't see the issue of the ears bleeding through.

To be fair, it doesn't do this in regards to them being gender locked either, their blurb of information doesn't say that their female-only in regards to Viera, and Hrothgar also mentions females. Honestly, if I was new and looking in I would assume that the missing genders were a bloody achievement unlock due to the 'space', there. But on character creation, you would also assume that Hrothgar and Viera can do everything else that the other races can. There should be some sort of warning there to state the limitations.

I'm starting to think this as well, otherwise, they would have changed it already - or rather right from the start. Or rather, not how fantasias work but how the aesthetician works.

It's definitely a limitation due to the system.
They only have so many variables that can be changed, and so many that can be changed via aesthetician.

For Hrothgar, the variable that can be changed via aesthetician is the fur pattern and fur colour, with the 'Hairstyles' instead taking up the same variable slot as Au Ra horns, by being tied to the face.

Unless they change the way the aesthetician works, all Hrothgar will get is more fur patterns.

Yes, i agree with you on this. They should put a *Limited Race pls be warned that something something* if they are planning to go on this route with hair not being able to change at aesthetician and hats or helms not able to display because "Unique heads". On top of this they should also put additional information on mogstation glamour items like headgears will not be displayed on Hrothgar/Viera. None of this will be an issue if the new races can wear hats/helms and change hairstyle at aesthetician of course.

This "Hairstyle bound to face" reminds me of another game which basically means that the race is either made by lazy hands or unfinished.
