W/L Expectations in Frontline

Hey MMO PvPers. I am not one, but I need to become one because there's a sick piece of fashion I need in my life locked behind an achievement for a lot of wins in Frontline. However, I suck even with Gunbreaker right now, so I've got a lot of catching up to do.

But, this isn't my question.

Right now I've only won a single game in Frontline, out of the ten or so I've played. I've also not a single time gotten put onto the Maelstrom team, which is curious given I'm with Maelstrom in the story. Curious-er, in all but 2 of those ten games, Maelstrom has been the winner. Is... is this normal? To have such a low win percentage?

Yes because we are being matched with premades.
To win more you have to team up with at least few people, that way you make sure you wont get pvp bots in your team.

Also if you the other two teams are being stomped. It is best to just go do something else unless you are having fun. Because if a premade is queing or even if say the Maelstrom players are queing as maelstrom only because they think the other teams are scrubs. It can be a frustrating night chasing wins.



But if you are having fun keep playing and quietly work on some other things, while helping the team. Kills, other achievements have titles. Getting lots of currency to level desynth, so many battle materia. Chasing wins can be a little frustrating.

Well, I really really do want that one glamour item, plus some other Wolf Mark goodies, so I guess I'll have to try and queue up with a PvP group somewhere.

I wish it was still locked behind ranks like before. This way there's still something unique for folks to work towards in a more casual environment, but the grind is so severe that the only people that stick it out are folks that genuinely enjoy playing the mode.

For the most part, yes. The inherent downside of the three team format is that you're pretty much guaranteed to lose much more often than you win. 1 out of 10 is lower than normal, but well within the realm of probability. (personally my lifetime Frontline win rate is 30%.)

As for the Maelstrom thing, if your GC is the Maelstrom and you're getting put on other teams you probably have Frontline Freelancer active. You turn that off in the DF settings menu.

To win need at least a healer in your and tank so far 5 matches in row from duty finder no healer in the group and none in the group that could change to one. Need take make each group have at least 1 healer and 1 tank in them.

You can expect to win about 30% of your games. I can give you a typical experience queing solo on aether:
If you que pre prime time its usually 8v8v8 and 1-2 good players/call outs can swing the win percentage to 50%. If a premade is running chance of winning goes to <5%. Low amount of healers on your team 20%.

During Prime time.
1. If a 1 premade is queing the gc with the premade has a 85% chance of winning.
2. If multiple premades are, assuming they are of relatively equal skill, the teams with a premade have a 40%ea and the left over team still has 20%.
3. If you que mael its 40% since it has the highest amount of "skilled" pvpers in that gc with the freelancer box unchecked. Its not as strong as 1-2yrs ago but its still the best even diluted with stains looking for wins.
4. I am mael and if I que freelancer I 90% of the time will be a flame. Flames by far and away have the lowest win percentage. Garbage. I fortunately just do roulette 2-3 times a week and dont care about wins and still roll my eyes when im a flame. If you que mael you can get skipped since there is so many bandwagoned.
5. If your 8ppl dont have a healer and you dont switch your lowering you win percentage by a lot. Your teammates win run in for 3v1s with or without a healer, and they will never back up when they are getting hit. This makes healing extremely frustrating and the whole pvp match unenjoyable at the cost of not feeding the other teams fevers so easily.

Overall, Queing as mael with the box unchecked is your best option to win, although by doing this your lowering your chances to win. Second best choice is to be an adder. If your bad and queing with a group you have a lower chance of winning when there is a good premade present, since your unlikely to be on the same team, but idk since Ive seen matches w/2 premades vs randoms. Anyway you slice it your in for a boring time.
