Not talking about shout outs. Talking about using it as an inspiration because its so rich since pgl has been so dreadful bland. Way to puke up your typical angsty crap on the wrong thing.
pug= floyd mayweather monk=Junior dos Santos Boxing vs MMA
Why wouldn't you use something that actually revolves around the martial art as inspiration instead of a anime though? I kind of get where your going with the fists of fire stuff I guess but really.
This is what SE should be emulating.
Seriously this is what should be happening in the Pugalists guild. Last thing you would do is try and skimp out on your debt if you seen this.
I almost wanted to become Monk for a second with that animation.
BUT I WANT TO SEE DRAGOON'S SKILLS ALREADY! I'm just... way too excited for February (hopefully)
C'est Vie ou Mort!
That made literally no sense.
The anime resolves heavily around martial arts style. Each bender (elemental type) has his own martial art that drawn from irl sources. "In addition to the use of four classical elements in the series, the fighting styles associated with each element are derived from different styles of Chinese martial arts, for which the film-makers employed Sifu Kisu of the Harmonious Fist Chinese Athletic Association as a consultant.[41] Each fighting style was chosen to represent the element it projected. T'ai chi was used for "Waterbending" in the series, which focuses on alignment, body structure, breath, and visualization. Hung Gar was used for "Earthbending" in the series, and was chosen for its firmly rooted stances and powerful strikes to present the solid nature of earth. Northern Shaolin, which uses strong arm and leg movements was used to represent "Firebending". Ba Gua, which uses dynamic circular movements and quick directional changes, was used for "Airbending".[20][42][43] The only exception to these styles is Toph, who can be seen practicing a Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis style.[44]"
Do I want a carbon copy? No, not at all but Avatar did such very interesting things from traditional martial arts mixed with mysticism and particular abilities from each of the sects it was brilliant. It is absolutely worth taking note from seeing as they're doing such things over all anyway.
We're using our MP for "powers" (for brevity sake) so might as well do something awesome with them like Avatar did. It (Avatar) mixed the two absolutely amazingly.

You know, when I first started this game at launch, I began as a Pugilist; While most of the H2H designs were impressive, (save Spiked Knuckles lol), I sat down and roughly drew up a Lion's face over a fist as a preferred design! /shocked
They look pretty poor IMO. Compared to the lv96 WSs from FFXI these ones make me wanna cry. Even the "fat pokémon throw" of lv96 mnk WS is cooler than this one...and DRG one is one of the coolest ever added there...yummy poledancing FTW.

wow the FFXI monk 96+ ws even comes with a Ho-oh
