Unlike the money from your subscription all of the money from Mogstation goes to the FFXIV department of SE. Your subscription goes to SE and they give FFXIV a budget. I have no problem using mog station because 1) all the money goes to the ffxiv team and 2) it is optional and has no advantage to buying something from the mogstation

Wow, I had no idea that FFXIV was in such dire financial straits that they forced to debase themselves with a cash shop. I hope Square Enix gets profitable soon or we may end up losing FFXIV!
