When did calling PS4 players “console peasants” become acceptable?

I’ve seen multiple posts by multiple people calling PS4 uses peasants, another guy insulting people who work min wage jobs and not being able to afford expensive GPUs(one guy doing this was bragging about his $600 1080ti. When did this kinda thing become acceptable? I love Final Fantasy 14 because I can play with friends on PC and PS4 I don’t see the point of bragging about purchases/platforms and using them to insult other people.

It depends on the context, I have seen people use it in other ways than as merely a meme, so yes, obviously there are people who don't get that this is a meme.

It would be interesting to see SE's stats on PCs vs Console. Like I wonder if all the top raiding guilds like Mr. Happy's crew etc include exclusive console players, or are they all PC, or a mix. In regards to time I wonder who puts more into the game out of the console in pc gamers. In ffxi you could type /playtime and get your total play time down to second, so I wonder if SE keeps this kind of data.

You can do the same thing here, so yes, they definitely keep track on it.

I haven't done raids/ex trials for years but i have seen from time to time PF advertisements with:

"No PS4 users"
"Must join discord and show us your FFLogs"
"Elitist PC masterrace raiders only" --- This one i seriously saw this week lol.

At the end of the day it all comes down to the number 1 reason: 3rd party Apps lol. That is the only reason i could think off why a elitist PC raider would call someone a PS4 Console Peasant.

I don't recall ever seeing these on Crystal's PF, or the data center as it was before the swaps they did. It's people taking something rare and making it out to be an epidemic. Pretty much this thread in a nutshell.

Those are for static recruitment or high end content only... or the rare public parse run... It's not a common thing.
