Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
I once saw two people ERPing in /say in The Foundation like a year ago on Ultros.
Can't remember any other weird occurrences, but maybe I blocked them out.
I wanna say this happened maybe two years ago. My friends and I were sitting and chatting in party while standing in our FC yard. Three people, I forget who they were did some kinda emote glitch earlier somewhere, at least thats what I thought they did came running. Well rather butt sliding through the yard I should say, haha. They were in a sitting position but moving around as if they were walking. It was the most random and funniest thing, lol. They circled around the yard and I said in /say MARIO KART RACE!!!! and cheered and then they ran out the yard and that was it, haha
We have someone like that too on Balmung. A Roe in full Paladin AF armor and a moogle mask always doing the manderville dance by the entrance to the market wards in Limsa close to the main aetheryte for as far back as I can remember for a couple years now. We think of him as the server good luck charm, as long as he's there dancing away we feel like all is right with the world. If he's not there we look at it like its a bad omen.Alright there. I don't have any tales like yours but... When I started playing like 3 years ago I started on the Leviathan server. And in Limsa Lominsa, next to the big aetheryte there was always a male Miqote in a speedo doing the "Manderville" dance who was always AFK in the same spot. And I mean ALWAYS. For months, and months, and months. I went back to Leviathan a couple of years later (Sometime before world visit was implemented) to check in on my old FC. Annnnd the EXACT same male Miqote was in the EXACT same spot in Limsa Lominsa, STILL AFK, STILL doing the "Manderville" dance. It's always been a spectacle for me. Passed by him so much when Leviathan was my home server he almost felt like family. I bet he's still there to this day.
Apart from all the teleporting bots or hackers or whatever I see on occasion that's all I got.

Why do people come up with arbitrary and fake complaints to fuel problems that don't exist?
We have someone like that in Coeurl, I never see him doing anything. Sometimes he is there, sometimes he is not yet when he is there he is always AFK, with his Ramuh staff out and WHM outfit in Gridania.Alright there. I don't have any tales like yours but...
