Yeah? I said in my post I wasn't defending people going into SHB with 290 gear just pointing out that if you swap jobs you don't automatically have gear for that job just for doing the msq, at no point did I advocate for tanking in outdated gear. You don't need to add on anything. The tank, according, to the post was a mentor, and they should know better. This means it was in fact being lazy. If they wear the crown they know full well what they need to be doing, but what else can you expect. Most of the players who actually refuse to play properly, as in literally, are "mentors".
They need to remove the system entirely.
NO excuse. I have SIX level 80's, and on every single one of them I used my too many poetics to buy them full, or mostly augmented scaevan if I didn't already have it. I actually thought about my party, and myself before entering a dungeon I had no business entering. I expect the same kind of common courtesy from other players, especially as a tank. An undergeared tank is worthless, and useless, and should be kicked immediately.
I am currently getting my RDM to 80 as my last Caster and to get rid of the gear. Signed up for Malikahs Well and didn’t even have to wait terribly long.
Tank does the first big pull and me and my Co-Dps aoe things down. One thing i noticed was Physik being cast over and over. I check the tanks gear, thinking they might be undergeared. Nope, all good.
Check the healer. Decent as well....- wait they had a ilvl 330 book. in The 77 dungeon?
However, while they spammed heals we made the big pulls so i didn‘t comment on it.
We reach the last boss with lots of Physik spam, beat it, and i don't think much. However, the last chest drops the SCH Codex and i kinda sigh in relief that the SCh can be better geared in their next content.... But they PASS on it!!!!!!
I typed something quickly, but they left before anything could reach them.
Usually, especially as dps, i am not confrontational if there are no wipes or deaths caused. But that just ticked me off really badly.
The other horror story is about me. I had a wonderful Expert roulette as SCH in Amaurot. We reach the last boss in under 14 mins and i barely had to heal and could spam Art of War almost all day long.
Last boss prepares the big laser and we run to the little safety rocks. I don't bother adjusting my camera and just wing it.... and yeet myself of the platform at roughly 80%
Apologized and cheered on my party and they made it quite far, but sadly we still had to respawn and try again. All because I was reckless with my movement and didn’t bother adjusting my camera.

Got kicked out of dzaemel darkhold on my AST that I'm leveling cause im bored and want the amaro.. quick queues! Tank got mad that I wouldn't rez him also let him die (i was healing dude just squishy), also I face tanked the adds myself and survived fine, twice.
Thing is I had just leveled up enough to do Aurum Vale, so actually a happily welcomed the kick. Queued up for aurum vale immediately after, got instant queue (as expected) got more exp leveled up again. I wonder when people will learn me being kicked is actually very convenient for me.

WHM | RDM | DNC

I had to take a moment and think here about what I had right at the stormblood to shadowbringers transition. The RDM's gear seems about the right stuff for tomestone stuff prior to them making the upgrade items buyable. They may just not have known that they could have got the item that came from the omega fights could be bought with tomestones, as I do remember a lil bit of a weapon drought at the end of stormblood. I hadn't found out that initially, but there was a weapon coffer provided before the dungeon too. Which is reasonable level (385ish) for holminster I think. When can we get minimum ilvl for levelling dungeons. It is seriously needed. I just queued into Holminster as a DNC. Having 20k health more than the tank made me concerned. He was wearing full 290 left side. Healer was wearing Ala Mhigan gear and a 345 eureka weapon, and the RDM was wearing a mix of 385 and 365 gear, but with a 330 weapon. After taking 25 minutes to get to the end of the first boss, which included the tank getting 1 shotted by the unavoidable raidwide damage, I had to leave and take the penalty. Oh and the tank was a "mentor"
Stuff like this is actually getting me to consider relearning Smn and doing an experiment. Too bad don't have much spare armory space for it... but get full Ronkan gear, and maybe find my old dusty ilvl 70ish Smn gear, and see just how much dead weight duty finder groups are actually willing to carry before someone speaks out or kicks. Someone speaks out, equip ronkan, otherwise rock that oldschool ARR gear. Should get some interesting stories from that.

Okay, I got a story that happened not so long ago in Eden's Gate: Resurrection. So I queue on drk (I MT this) with my rdm friend and get into the run. We zone in abd Healer starts a countdown timer and we pull 10 seconds into us loading in. We get about 25-30 seconds in and realized, "Well I have not gotten 1 heal so far whole time." I look at the 2 healers in party(both whm) and they are spamming glare whole time. My rdm friend starts to spam vercure on me to keep me alive, and before anyone says anything I have used my CD, TBN, basically spreading my mitigation skills out and friend did not heal spam me until I was around 15k hp. We somehow make it to the add phase after a healer dying to aoe damage because even when both whm got hit by Delta Attack (targeted aoe's) and were at 14k hp each, they were still spamming glare. We get to adds, I grab mine other tank takes about 15 seconds to get there which causes 2 dps to die and so we end up wiping because dps check to the "To Dust" move So after this wipe my friend and I both asked the healers if they could do their job, heal, yes we were blunt with it because my friend as a rdm did more healing that fight then them and everyone was sitting around 20k hp because raid wide damage basically whole time. Now thats where @#%@ hits the fan because they said i did not pop CD's (which I was, everything but living dead, and we all know how that would of turned out) and also for not grabbing my add (I did, other tank did not) both healers got super defensive and telling me to learn to tank and this back and forth goes on for another 2 minutes. We pull again (this time I actually got heals) and we only had OT die at one point once, but that was because he messed up, not on healers. We clear fight and afterwards one of the healers says to me, "hopefully one day you learn not everyone needs to be topped off 24/7" Sooooo ya, one never said that, I just wanted a heal so i wasn't living at 20% health the whole fight, because you know bosses can crit and that would 1 shot you as tank at that hp amount.
So ya fun running with healers that are so concerned to dps so fast on a normal mode raid to save 30 seconds of time to risk wipes. No I do not need to be at full hp 24/7, but i do not want to be sitting at 14k hp with random healers. You dps between heals when you got time, not the other way around. I know I am at fault for coming right at the heals right after that wipe about doing their job, but I mean come on, the whole time before the wipe I saw 1 medica II and I think 1 cure III or medica for one of the aoe's, but that was it.
P.S sorry if I do not name moves correctly, just doing this from memory. So to clarify one more thing, they did not say they were going to heal and keep us alive at bare minimal, they basically just loaded in with us and started a countdown timer without saying anything. Well w/e ended up being more funny then sad.
It is not the quantity of friends you have that determines your worth, its the quality of friends that does.
I'm leveling alt classes and all of them have full Augmented Scaevan. The only thing I can imagine is that all of them went in severely undergeared to see if it was possible or to ruin someone's day. Otherwise, I am lost as to why this would even happen.Maybe they were leveling alt classes? You just get it once for the class you play... I just think if the first dungeon I'm more forgiven and the expansion is still new. If they pull stuff like that in later dungeons I would be as angry about it but yeah, maybe I'm just too forgiving in that regard.
Level 80: SAM | SCH | PLD | DNC
Leveling: AST | WAR | MCH

Not something that happened to me, just passing on something i heard from someone i know.
So this guy is going into Holminster Switch as a White Mage...and immediately notices something is wrong.
The Gunbreaker tank has absolute flaming garbage HP...a quick look reveals he is wearing nothing but level 1 glamour gear, aside from the 390 weapon.
The rest of the party is like "OH MY GOD WHY!?"
And the tank goes "LOL! Trollolololol" revealing that he qued in like that on purpose just to screw with people. Because the game let him do it and he finds it funny when people freak out upon noticing.
You shouldn't waste people's time doing any shadowbringer dungeons without i390 tome gear. If you don't have the poetics for it then don't do 71+ dungeons till you do.
so basicly if i see you in my roueltte i can kick you?You don't need to add on anything. The tank, according, to the post was a mentor, and they should know better. This means it was in fact being lazy. If they wear the crown they know full well what they need to be doing, but what else can you expect.
