Materials would not be a gil sink.So care to expand upon your reasonings why it wouldn't happen as you say. Ishgard is canonically rebuilding, you can do a series of quests that would be your payment for the instanced house, said house could require materials be turned in so it's not "free" if it kills you that much. Then allow players their own personal space, let them upgrade it even.
Why is any of this out of the realm of possibility?
I don't know where the source is but SE/Yoshi P said gardens are dependent on weather and need to be in an active/loaded zone for the crops to actually grow. If it is instanced housing, when no one is in the zone, then the house is stored away to save on server resources and gardens won't grow.
Other than that, doing something to get instanced housing would be nice. Gardens probably would be the only thing that would not work unless SE does something to change how gardens grow.

I'm guessing there has to be a work around since I grow crops inside in my house using the Flowerpots.I don't know where the source is but SE/Yoshi P said gardens are dependent on weather and need to be in an active/loaded zone for the crops to actually grow. I'm all for instanced housing, but I think Ishgard's rebuilding is coming far too soon unless something like this is already in the works.
Not only did you mistake me for someone else, but the only one "disappointing" is you.
Seriously. How dare you abuse this system in this manner. It's not enough that you did this but you parade about it in your signature as well.
The only type of person that does this is one that doesn't care about anyone but themselves. That's the real disappointment.
Well, if its not in the works at the moment, they could always add to it. That'd be part of the beauty of your house being instanced. It could be added behind any unused portculis or locked behind a guard npc at any time in development. And, though the suggestion says something about the restoration leading to it, unlocking it could also just be added as a housing-related quest, with an "Ishgard Restoration @ x% completion" prerequisite, in a later patch. It doesn't have to be included in 5.1 (or whenever the Ishgard Restoration stuff is happening).

Open housing in Ishgard as part of Ishgard rebuilding? Change it up a bit and make people actually build their house with... you know... crafting skills ;3 lol (and a boatload of materials)
