Abuse of the TOS. Loophole regarding griefing/trolling. Needs a solution.

Uh, you seem to be confusing Erotic RP with regular RP. Might want to look up what the difference is.

And yes, ERP should not be done in public. We are (hopefully) all adults here and should know better. Being behind a computer screen won't assist in protecting you from that.

That sounds like a "you" problem. OP pays a subscription like any one else and in doing so can RP in whatever corner of this virtual world they want. It's a big world in Eorzea. The fact that these brainless fools purposely picked these two people to harass is just what it is.. harassment. Disruption of one's game play with the deliberate intent to cause distress and was meant to garner a reaction caused by a few brats with attitudes like yours. It's against ToS to be disruptive with the intention to harass.

People who are saying to filter, turn off effects, move their conversation to a separate chat window, all I can say is why should they have to? I suggest for OP to report these fools and for those that don't like RP'ers. Then YOU move that chat to a different window, filter it and move along. Again Eorzea is a big world with plenty of room for different play styles.

I remember at one point in time, Blizzard used to elevate the severity of a harassment offense by a step if it targeted Roleplayers for RPing. That meant a warning became a 3 day suspension, and a week suspension became a permament ban. It did work at cutting down the harassment towards RPers during the first few years.

This literally never happened. I played on RPPVP servers for a decade in WoW and the only difference in punishment was that you could get reported for more things than on a regular server. Naming rules were more strict, harassing RPers was reportable, etc. But the actual punishments were the same as harassing anyone else. RPers are not a protected class, lmao. No one was getting the banhammer for doing something to an RPer that would have gotten them a 3 hour suspension if done to anyone else.

Stalking requires active harrassment. Just being there does not qualify as harrassment. I can sit in front of someone's house in my parking car all week if I want.

According to my state's law, it doesn't require active harassment, but observation, monitoring, and surveillance. And does not even have to be done physically, but can be done electronically through electronic messages and other eletronic medium. Apparently my state is in the 21st century on this.

So not only are these people breaking TOS, but they are breaking actual state laws.

So my advice to the OP, keep recordings of this. SE may not take the evidence but your state will. Your state can subpoena SE for the owners' information of any characters involved and prosectute them.

This isn't some silly fun, stalking is serious. Royalbeef, this is not something to play around with, and the only reason I can see you defending this, is if you've done this to RPers or others in the past. I recommend you stop. You can face serious penalties.
