But cartridges aren’t something like Aetherflow, where you get a set amount in regular intervals - you actually earn them through 1-2-3 spam. So the miliseconds you’ll lose with the macro add up during the fight enough that you do 1-2-3 combo less frequently, earning less cartridges to spend on the other skill that uses them. Perhaps not that important for people not interested in savage content and such, but we should all be striving to put out as much damage as possible to help the fight go faster. So unless I’m wrong here (and I’ll leave it to someone else to do the math), the macro is still an overall loss and the problem remains.
I wish I was on your server, or if I can see your hotbars and compare them to mine. I know you said you don't want loadout advice but I really do believe if I were able to show you my setup it'll help out alot. Truth be told I thought it was a bit much at first too but I set it up so you instantly see both combos and both of them are on the L2 chain. So you have the 1,2,3 combo on Triangle circle and X with the start of the rush combo on Square. Then you switch over to the D-pad setting them in order. I think that might help with putting the second combo on a set path without worrying about space. I'm not too keen on marcos so I can't offer any advice on that persay. Komari is a better person to offer that kind of advice. Have you tested her marco if so mind telling me your results?

At the moment, my setup is that Gnashing Fang is on R2 + Triangle (upper face button on PS4). When it lights up, i hit it, then hold L2 to reveal a hidden R2+L2 crossbar, where I do the rest of the Continuation combo. I have to hold R2+L2 for the remainder of the combo, which I hate, but the double-tap thing is not an option for this combo, as it's way too frequent for that to be comfortable. The double tap serves me well for other, less frequent skills on both Gunbreaker and other classes.

I don't want to put the Continuation combo on L2 + face buttons, that would mess up my muscle memory on other tanks that don't have a whole additional 4-button combo.

Finally, I don't want to use the single-button macro, since I'm losing DPS that way.

So the bottom line is, while the current R2+L2 setup works, it's not comfortable, the whole point of the thread. If this was used less frequently it would have been, but they're making us go through this combo every 20 seconds.

X-box controller. I think I will make some screenshots of my loadout to you, so you could see how to make it fine'n 'fancy.

I see... that presents a tiny issue from what I read and does provide much needed context atleast. While I disagree with condensing the combo itselt tho with that setup it would be abit much, it's why I did put it on the face buttons. I honestly think it works better as a L2 face button since it's pretty much a second main combo so it should be in front. Sadly the best answer is to try putting it infront, I understand relearning skills and memory sucks but once you learn it it's there. I'm a monk main, my entire rotation was bucked after shadows so I had no choice but to relearn memory. I will post a video so hopefully it'll provide abit of context. But yeah, at the end of the day the best answer I can give is you might have to adjust, we all had too at shadows and it's just part of the game. Gunbreaker isn't like the other 3 tanks and plays more like a melee so it has abit more combos to use.
