SE already simplified the mechanics, done basic tutorials with guildhests and so on. If the person don't want to improve or play the video game at all, there is nothing you can do about it. Because the next step is to make SE play the game for the person.

No, everyone's responsibility is to avoid damage that can be avoided or mitigate damage (stack markers, etc.). Me having to blow an oGCD or having to stop DPSing to use a GCD cure because I ran out of oGCD between the bad DPS and tanks slows down the efficiency of the run.

At some point, the phrase "cheaper to Raise" becomes more than a phrase and I just leave DPS like this on the floor. Dead DPS don't do damage and they certainly don't need healing.

At this point, we should assume being that bad with that simplified jobs mean those PPL either are totaly new and deserve tuition on the way to betterment, wich mentor technicaly are here to provide to a certain extent or their unwillingness have reach a point of no return and no help can be provided anymore.

So it's not your responsibility to avoid damage that you can avoid? In that case, it's not the Healer's responsibility to fix your mistake. Heal yourself.

??? What has "improving" with "playing the game" to do? I am playing the game, but still only improve as much as the story requires me to. Anything more than that is content I most likely don't care about, thus nobody's time will be wasted *shrugs* in for example "the only content that matters".

I main tank jobs and I'm super relxed when doing runs but these two things infuriate me to no end. I don't have too many situations where a DPS not isn't using AoEs but it seems like this patch, I have been in numerous PUGs with a healer who does nothing but heal and then stand there resulting in mobs taking FOREVER to take down.

To be fair, guildhests which are designed to teach people various game mechanics aren't required. I was already level 60 and wanted to unlock mentor and found out I had only completed half of the guildhests available.

They could start by making those required content as you're leveling up. They are short and quick so it shouldn't bother anyone. They should also make people buying a level 60 level boost on a job role they don't already have to 60 to go back and do all the guildhests as well. I've had those boosted tanks not turn on their tank stance or that Paladin not know about Flash (when it was in the game) to pickup groups of mobs.

Because it is a CHOICE to do that content, not a MUST.

If you were FORCED to do some kind of Test-area before entering Savage or Ex-Primals that would be another thing. But no such thing will happen i can assure you. The only thing that will happen is that SE will make the Game easier every expansion. At some point we can mash one button like we do in the current "PvP" (or whatever thats supposed to be now) to press 3 actions.

Considering how little DPS Healers are actually able to contribute, if this is what is causing the mobs to take forever to die, you have bigger issues than a Healer not DPSing.

The thing about all of those hurdles you put up to prevent bad players from getting into content is that everyone has to leap over them, and while it may not be particularly difficult, they do add up and require an increasing amount of time to get over, time that could be spent doing something that's actually fun. Other games have tried to "force" players to play better, but with little success. Many players will get around the hurdle and then go right back to being as lazy as the content allows, or they'll learn how to beat that particular trial, but not more generally how to adapt in new content. All you can do is provide players with the opportunity and resources to improve if they choose to do so and make sure anytime players are likely to have to band together with random people that the game won't be too painful. Difficulty is best reserved for organized groups of like-minded individuals or for solo content.

The players that were going to struggle with the Proving Grounds generally weren't players interested in difficult content to begin with. They were casuals whose upper end consisted of heroic dungeons and LFR. As someone who never found the Proving Grounds difficult, I never really felt like I got anything out of having to jump that hurdle on every role on every character. It did not result in a noticeable improvement in group quality.
