can newgame+ be the solution for jump potter or anyone who skip ARR story?

i mean, its still not out yet but if they make the feature right, i think it could be the solution for practically anyone who skip ARR story.

i dont know how they going to make newgame+ but i really hope they trim down the unnecessary quest and the fed-ex task in the MSQ

- cut short the unnecessary "filler kill X 10 times to continue story" in the ARR MSQ, maybe change it to cutscene or downright skip the section and continue the story

- all DG or primal can be solo or have something like trust system, to keep the story flowing

- a reward that can be only obtain when you do newgame+ (mount or minion maybe? i noticed a lot of jump potter didnt bother with any lore or story but really care when it come to mount)

i can see the potential to at least more than just "band aid" the negativity of ARR, in fact it could become a thing to do like "oh you use jump pot? make sure to play newgame+ to get special reward" kind of stuff

of course in the end it still depend on the player itself, if the guy never has any shred of intention about the story yeah it still useless i guess.

Jump Potions will still be the path of least resistance to someone willing to spend money.
New Game+ won't solve the issue.

I'm sure there are some jumpers that want to go back and experience the story but if a jump potter doesn't care about lore, new game+ existing wont make them care, not even for a mount. They'd probably just skip through all the dialogue and scenes. Personally i do believe anyone skipping FFXIV'S story is missing out but y'know, different strokes for different folks.

What I'm hoping for, is that the implementation of New Game Plus comes packaged with improvements to the ARR story pacing. Some of the quests in the quest-line (Especially in the Titan story-line and the Post 2.0 > Heavensward Story) Can be regulated to Sidequests without harming the overall story points or structure.)

What New Game + Will provide after that point is an opportunity for those who did skip due to the poor pacing of ARR, to be able to go back and experience the story properly. Aside from the pacing failings of the early parts, it really is the strongest part of this game.

As yes.. the fans of story. Such a small audience in FF games.
FF games aren't known for being story driven at all.

The story is legitimately the most important thing in the eyes of the developers and for many in the community. While I get that some people don't like it the people willing to go back and re-experience the story are hardly a 'small group'.

for jump potter who really just want to play the endgame yes. but i think 50% of the jump potter is because the good old "i want to reach SHB fast so i use jump" and "ARR quest is slog and boring (not the story)"

its like they actually want to experience the story but they cant because the fed-ex quest, completely pointless quest and there is like over 200 of it on top of that. i mean iam all 80% story when i play games but few of the ARR quest is i agree, unnecessary, like where you need to prep a feast before going to titan is just.... why? just make it a cutscene or something?

I love MSQ because I'm a story driven player. I love games with a story, if they have no story then I'm not interested. So I for one am looking forward to the new game + to level up my other classes. I really hate the grind of levelling atm and I'm not much of a fan for PoD so I'm hoping this NG+ is going to be right up my street!

Also, not sure if it'll stop jump potters. Probably not because you'll always get players that'll want to reach end game asap. But in saying that, there may be an interest in going back over the story once they've finished the latest MSQ. I wouldn't say all, but I think, some at least, will be interested in doing so!

we still dont know if this newgame+ can be use for levelling alt class or not, because i think i read it from news or reddit, yoshi said newgame+ is purely for people who want to enjoy the story again from ARR and experience it again.

i really hope it can work for levelling alt class though because iam not a big fan of potd and hoh
