I mean I guess Rinoa was a sorceress eventually **spoilers** but I don't think Squall was a "sorceress knight" per se. More like she was his sorceress instead of the other way around.
Not sure if it was said, but the 80 AF gear looks like Seifers cloths...
Eh... Its a trench coat... I feel like it mixes elements of all 3 gunblade users and gives its own twist on things.
Probably in the future we will see the artifact armor have more pull towards the other two gunblade users.
I have no personal issue with the fact they used Seifer in there or that the female idle is Lightning's stance. I like that they pulled from all 3 characters to make a unique class built around the weapon.
My only complaint is that if they want us to switch between using 1 and 2 hands for this weapon... Make it a bit bigger to reflect that it is a hand and a half sword. And maybe fix the animation sounds that i see a lot of people complaining about.
Other than that no issues here from me.
Funny thing about that is Regual van Hydrus use the more classic Squall Battle stance from FF8 despite being a Garlean Gunblade user but it fits his gunblade designed length due to being made for two-handed wielding.Eh... Though I prefer Gaius's combat stance as a Garlean Gunblade User.
I suspect the change for Gunblade length to be shorter is because the battle stance is made more towards Squall's newer battle stance in current iterations of him being that he holds the Gunblade on his right hand with his right shoulder supporting it before he swings it.
Squall's classic FF8 stance was more fitting for the larger Gunblade design.

I'll have to go take a look at these and compare them, thanks for that tidbit.Funny thing about that is Regual van Hydrus use the more classic Squall Battle stance from FF8 despite being a Garlean Gunblade user but it fits his gunblade designed length due to being made for two-handed wielding.

This right here, while I can't say for sure for original Dissidia, NT Squall uses his Gunblade with one hand quite a bit.I suspect the change for Gunblade length to be shorter is because the battle stance is made more towards Squall's newer battle stance in current iterations of him being that he holds the Gunblade on his right hand with his right shoulder supporting it before he swings it.

Thinking back on that line makes me laugh, you literally fight a garlean gunblade user that the job NPC is already familiar with in the 70 quest, describing his weapon as just a gun with a sword attached seems to be doing it a massive disservice.
Think maybe our job trainer was a little bitter about being a prisoner all that time (which would be more than fair tbh.)
I think that guy has a "special" one and was talking about the majority of gunblades we've seen.Thinking back on that line makes me laugh, you literally fight a garlean gunblade user that the job NPC is already familiar with in the 70 quest, describing his weapon as just a gun with a sword attached seems to be doing it a massive disservice.

To be fair, the majority of gunblades we've seen are special, the Empire doesn't equip the rank and file with them.
I mean, if 'gun with sword attached' is the canon then that's that, just bugs me because that isn't our experience in game at all.
The people equipped with that we actually fight have unique combat styles, but with recurring themes across users. Lot of dashing in and out of melee, lot of dropping fire on the floor, lot of creating those magitek X projectiles.

I mean, those are also the special fights. I'm talking about the garlean throwaways who carry the regular gunblade like in the stormblood CGI trailer. Fighting styles aside, I'm pretty sure they made it clear that guy is using something of garlean design but not common within ranks. To be fair, the majority of gunblades we've seen are special, the Empire doesn't equip the rank and file with them.
