    I didn't say it was just a coding level. Here's the possible outcomes:

    A producer may have told a coder to do it.
    A coder may have convinced a producer it was good.
    Or it could have been any number of designers, artists, or whatnot.

    Point being these decisions don't happen in a vacuum. The problem is it didn't go through any sort of user test case and definitely not through with any players.

    There's another issue that may have caused this too. Culture.

    SE is an eastern company, their primary customer is Japanese. I don't know how Japanese players see this. They may very well say "hey.. this makes sense to go to a dresser to get clothes." Their way of thinking and their priorities are far different than ours. But this is point I will admit is mostly hypothesis at best.

    But as far as something coming down to one person in a huge organization. Especially making dumb decisions... yeah it can happen. I've seen much worse by experience.

    I believe we both would be satisfied if we could get some definitive communication on why inventory/glamour limitations are a thing?

    None of this "Uhh.. cause.. 1.0" responses either. I need some details.
    so far the only thing I know for certain has been stated by the devs is:
    The databases, for whatever reason, do checks every few seconds against each other. This supposedly causes problems in high throughput areas such as combat enabled areas where not only is the item information flying back and forth to the character server, but it's processing damage, inputs, positional checks yada-yada. As such they have created inventories that separate themselves : Chocobo bags, Glamour dressers, Armoire.

    Questions I would like answered:
    Why can the Armoire not be expanded to hold more things?
    Why are Glamors still linked to inventory problems since they should just be tiny info tags?
    What would it take to relieve these inventory database bandwidth issues?

    weirdly, in 1.0 you could wear any gear. i mean if you did it and got killed you were an idiot but there was nothing actually stopping you.

    Your understanding of the situation is seriously off. Many of the workarounds in FFXIV are done because of character data limits not just because of design/producer wants.

    Glamour Plates are the way they are because Glamour Plate data is not stored with the character data. Glamour Dressers are the way they are because they store the gear data in a simplified format in order to limit the data the items take up and are only accessible at certain locations because they are not in the character data.
