    If you change your sounds settings you can hear your skill better, you can choose from where your sounds comme from (closer from your character or the camera). If you set it close to your character you can hear it better. But it will still sound muffled af. idk if it will help you but i'm saying it aniway.
    Seriously i think ppl who complained set this setting very close to their character, if that's why they think the old sfx was bad i wouldnt be surprised haha. Mine was close to medium with the old one and i was fine like that xD With the new one i'm almost at max level to ear it.
    I think showing our settings while explaining why we dont like the knew sfx could help some ppl understand a little better.

    I've set it super close to the camera and still barely hear the slashes tbh. The explosions are unnecessarily loud and obnoxious anyways and nothing needed changing. Before I had the distance a lil away from the camera and heard everything just fine... so idk why they did what they did.


    On another note, you can watch the GNB unlock cutscene, the hrothgar still uses the old sound effects for the keen edge combo if you need a comparison of how good they sounded before.

    Keen Edge sounds worse. Gnashing Fang combo sounds better, albeit a bit muted.

    I didn’t mind the old sounds but they were a bit too thinny for my tastes. Never really complained. Overall I like this new set better but I miss Keen Edge’s sound from before. It was more satisfying.

    I don’t understand how some people be so upset about others who did give feedback about not accepting the sounds. Because in those same posts, I’m seeing that they can’t accept the new sounds just the same way. That seems super hypocritical to rant about people whining that the Job is unplayable with the old SFX, and then immediately say it’s unplayable because of the new one.

    It’ll be good if revert Keen Edge, and I hope they up the sound of Continuation a bit or Gnashing Fang in general (it’s good now, just a muted).

    Yeah we feel the exact same way as they did. I wont mind if SE comes up with something that is acceptable for everyone, but we just say that we don't like it and try to explain why. In the end it's just a matter of taste, if you like the new sfx no one has to agree. Something good for me can be something bad for other players. I think no one said that the new sxf makes gnb unplayable, just less fun, more difficult to hear etc... The job is still the same.

    Because people think they know what they want and this is a good concept of why SE shouldn't listen to the minority. Also as much as I thought I'd like the new gnashing fang.... I'm sorry it just feels like there's nothing fluid about it now. just constant BOOM > BA-BOOM > BOOM > BOOM > BAAAAA BOOM. Used to feel like I was hacking and slashing away and the booms came after the combination was complete. Idk why everyone complains about it sounding thin, it's not an axe, its not a great sword, its not a hammer, it's literally a regular blade with a barrel on it.... The old sounds made it sound mechanical an precise in design, unique... not like SAM or PLD.... and to an extent I don't understand how people say this when NIN is literally the epitome of thin pitched blade sounds, you hear NIN's slashes and then GNB's you'll think GNB sounds just fine.

    Honestly, at this point, I don't even want to tempt fate and ask for specifics, I just hope to god they listen to all of this and change it back and nothing else be done. I accepted it as it was on the trailer, I accepted it as e received, I will not accept it with such a unnecessary change.

    There's a couple including myself that have admitted the new SFX make it unplayable. It's very disheartening to be used to the cool slashes and booms and then have it change entirely to as if you're wielding a box with a cannon on it. I think when we had the original sounds, no one claimed it was "unplayable", people were just being picky. Now with the change though.... just... oof. Mechanically it still is the same but part of why the mechanics of it exist are also themed around the aesthetic of the job so... when everything sounds blunt/explodey like this... there's no more blade in the gunblader anymore.... your burst strikes and continuation aren't this giddy moment of getting to execute a combo that's satisfying to flow through, its this "I think I'm on the 2nd par- oh no wait I'm already at the end, I can tell because I hear overly heavy swings and a michael bay level explosion". When you cast Foul on a BLM, you FEEL it, when you do your 3 resource slash on SAM, you FEEL it, when you do GNB's cartridge combo now.... its lost in a flood of the same muddied sounds as the rest of the kit.

    Just revert them all. Before only a few people complained (for no reason). Now we have literally storm on multiple forums. Conclusion? It was perfectly fine before.

    Honestly they really just need to revert solid barrel combo. I like the gnashing fang combo now but it needs to be juxtaposed with the slashing of the solid barrel combo.

    From what I know lore wise, solid barrel isn't supposed to sound heavy and exploding. It's about filling up your cartridges to then let out the boom. It makes playing GNB a LOT less fun and I can't really hear what I'm doing anymore.

    Honestly makes me wanna play a different tank entirely.

    Just adding yet another voice to say that I preferred the old sounds, and that playing the job now doesn't feel anywhere near as satisfying.

    Full agree... I remember when 5.0 dropped and I was trying out Gunbreaker, I was actually shocked at how good it sounded. Everything sounded crisp and I liked the impact of it. Now it sounds absolutely horrible, like you're whiffing a baseball bat. I'm p sure I'm just another in a long line of people who thought my headset was broken when I first heard it, before I realized what I was hearing.

    Please change them back Square, they were so good before q.q

    I started Gunbreaker after the patch so I don’t know how its like before.
    But, for normal combo, it sounds more like blunt-weapon attack instead of slash attack somehow.
    And the Explosion is just like the sound of half-dud bomb....
