Pokes...♥

I absolutely hate the new sounds. The slicing effect felt great but now I cant distinguish any sounds over the over sounds of the battle, and overall it feels like I'm fighting underwater now (the way the sound is distorted).
The only way I can explain the "fix" they made is to simply apply an effect over the existing sounds. The result is a garbled mess.

I agree.. I liked the crisp slicing sound effects from before. The new ones are just weird and sound like you're hitting with a blunt object.. I don't think it fits the class or weapon at all.
All 3 abilities in the Keen Edge combo sounds like they would be sound effects from monk abilities..
Weighing in here - very dissatisfied with the audio SFX changes. It's funny, because this is my first post on these forums, and it's to write-up my thoughts on how this change doesn't mesh well with me.
Sure, the Brutal Shell combo felt a tiny bit on the small-bladed-weapon side, but that makes sense since we were swinging around a longsword with mechanic parts, not a DRK or WAR-scale weapon.
It was distinct, loud enough to discern where in the combo you were, and had a great sense of slicing impact behind it. Honestly I grew to like it and didn't feel the 'weird light pocket knife' vibe the change stated. Now we're taking a heavy stick we found in the forest and beating an empty box or a hollow wall with it. Sure, that works well with the PvP weapon since it's just a club, but that's... literally it. Not a fan.
The aether explosions, while nice, feel kinda like a heatwave or flamethrower rather than a burst. Maybe it's the lack of volume, or bass, or duration of the audio popping and fizzling out. Regardless, it seems a lot of the earlier complaints were more focused towards the explosive aether rather than the sword swipes, not sure why those got pulled into the fold.
Now I can't tell based on audio queues where I am in the combo, and the sounds are easily drowned out in combat. They're dissatisfying, and unremarkable. The old sounds were very clean and slice-y in the Brutal Shell combo, and the trigger pull on the final hit felt fantastic and loud enough. Now it's very... pool-noodly. Blunt, uninteresting, indistinct, easily drowned out, and weak-sounding. While I'd also like the explosion sounds to change, I'm more concerned about the actual weapon swipe sound.
Side Note - Blasting/Danger Zone's older swing did feel on the light-side, but the current one still feels too quiet. Maybe make Danger Zone have the old sound, and the new one keep the current with more bass/volume? Vice Versa? I don't know, it just lacks the cleave/slice/heavy vertical sweep. Might be a lil nitpick-y on this one, though.
tl;dr - I can learn to love the new aether explosions, but the sword swipes and trigger pullings are REAL uninteresting, unimpactful, quiet, and overall take a lot of feel-good-ness away from the class now. I'd prefer we go back to the old sound, personally. It's great they're being so quick and receptive to audio feedback for a new class, but this feels a little bit too knee-jerk-reaction to me. I was more than satisfied with the older sounds.

Honestly, all they needed to do was add a little more boom on the old skills so we could hear the explosion. The gunblade sounds slicing itself were god tier. Why they made us swinging tree trunk sounds on our little blades I wont ever understand. I really hope they either revert back to old sounds or revert to old sounds but still have the same explosion sounds.
I'ma say this one last time because this is as simple as it could get.
Revert to old. Isolate the explosion bits, raise volume of them to be balanced with the slashes. Done. Nothing else. Nothing new, no changes.
But even if they can't do that, for the love of god change everything back idc if they keep the explosions how they sounded either, I won't be picky just this new set is awful as hell.

I'm back after playing GNB after a hiatus from it. I can't hear my slashes.
I did not play my GNB much before their fix but today I played it only a little and after just 5 mins I asked an FC mate about the sound and if my memory was right that the basic 3 hit combo sounds are bland and missing the oof it had, and the new explosion sounds for the cartridge spenders sound like a goblin throwing a bomb, to be honest, I liked the sounds before their fix way better than what it is now, at least in my opinion.

Gonna drop a post here requesting for the Keen Edge sound effects to be reverted to prior to 5.0.1. The rest sounds amazing and fitting of the job.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
Sorry for going all political but: make Keen Edge combo sound great again!
