Gunbreaker is pretty cool, straightforward but has terrible sound fx.

Just started SHB yesterday eager to play as GNB and jesus, those sounds are awful. Sounds like im hitting wet grass with a stick.

Am I not using an awesome GunBlade?, is this not a huge sword combined with a revolver?.

Cmon square, you can do better than this.

It was perfect in 5.0 but they changed it. There was a few topics of people who forgot that they are not playing FFVIII and devs listened to them. Hopefully now we have 10x more topics that new sounds are late april fools joke. We will see fixes that's for sure, but i'm afraid it will never reach its former glory.

I admit it i'm somewhat exaggerating, but let's be honest. I have never heard anyone complaining about sounds in the game. They were always very good. GNB had very good sounds too. The most possible option is that nostalgic players had issues. Devs shouldn't listen to minority.

Same, i never hear a single gnb main complain. I think it's just ppl seing the animations, thinking "it sould be heavier" "more booooms" "i'm a true fan of FF8 btw !!" and SE messing up.
I took 5 min to find out a gunblade didnt sound like the current sfx in 5.01 ... and i never played FFVIII

I'm not a big fan of them either, I really hope they revert it back to the old SFX or at least give the slashing sounds from the old SFX back as well as Blasting Zone's old SFX.

Why not going the easiest way possible and make all skills in the game making the same explosion sound like the Gnashing Fang combo of all 6 skills does the same?
Exact same noise of Boom boom boom everywhere and nothing else, that change was so dumb and super low effort garbage, i thuoght SE WAS A LITTLE BETTER THAN THAT.

Hey our job need to sound a little more impactful, what should we do?
Attach this stock boom effect to all the skills, this will do !

Not only our weapons are smaller than they should, but also our SFX are poorer as well, whats next? Merging skills so we will hit 1 button for the entire time? Rotfl.

SE hates GNB, i dont feel to play this job anymore going back to DRK and WAR.

This was GNB's original sounds, not all of them mind you but a lot of the good ones. Don't get discouraged to play it, its still fun and I have hope SE notices this outbreak of comments about the sound choices. I'm holding hope personally, no way they're going to ruin my favorite job.

Side note, I'm an FF8 fan through and through, never once thought they should change the SFX like this or anything to be "heavier". The comments I was reading about how it feels heavy in FF8 or Dissidia just make my eyes bleed with anger. It was NEVER heavy, you felt the vibration of the trigger when you held a PS controller and did the basic attack. Yoshida said it'd be the same as in our continuation combo going Attack > activate trigger skill > attack > activate trigger skill. Whoever these fanboys are, dunno what they're talking about and the job was fine as it was. I was certainly loving the sounds and the job just fine before all this nonsense.

The "heaviness" was already there before but less noticeable. It wasnt the weapon itself that was heavy.
The ninja slicing sound is clean like a sharp knife, gnb was more like tearing something apart (on solid barrel combo you can see and hear that with the old sfx). That's why the gnb looks like it's lifting something heavy, he has to force his way out to complete the strike. Tearing something apart is harder than cutting something like the ninja does. It makes sence with "Ready to rip", "Ready to tear", "Ready to gouge" and that's why the gnb can move so fast in the continuation combo.

We lost all the metallic sounds too. The slicing sound was mixed with the metal vibrating and the parts of the gunblade hitting each over (like a blade AND a gun). The explosions from the continuation combo weren't very big, but each one was a little different.
But some ppl wanted only the cutting sound because in ff8, there's only "woosh" "cut" "boom"... We had something more detailed and new in the old sfx lmao.

    Or i'm just stupid haha
