Well, if she was meant to be a CNJ, then SE Visual Works messed up (as usual), as she was clearly equipped with a THM weapon in that scene (a metal single handed rod, not a wooden branch staff). Again this was the original version of the Armoury System being depicted in that scene though, where you could equip abilities freely irrespective of class (hence why she could use Protect as THM, and why the elezen GLA could use Esuna to heal the roegadyn MRD's poison). Or why the lalafell could also cast Blizzard for that matter, as Blizzard at that stage was a CNJ spell (1.0 THM was all about using Astral and Umbral spells like Dia and Drain to inflict negative status on enemies or drain HP to heal).

Either way, as I mentioned much of what was shown in it never actually made it into the game anyway due to changes Tanaka made at the eleventh hour (the Drowning Wench was completely altered for starters to how it was depicted there - the aetheryte was moved to somewhere else in 1.0 and was not in the centre of the Adventurer's Guild as shown in that scene), and besides, such discrepencies can easily be handwaved away anyway by simply saying "It was all an Echo scene based on someone's memory and memories are imperfect after all".

Or maybe I'm just overthinking things again. :P

I'd just add that Visual Works need to work far in advance of the release, so things will always change that cannot then be reworked for the cutscene. See: Miqo'te's eye's in 1.0 opening, Hraesvelgr attaching the Steps of Faith in 3.0 opening. Development will always take precedence over the CGI, so inconsistencies are basically inevitable.
