Tis sad but true. The best time to do something like this is during the first days.
It's the golden time where it's OK to be new to the content and people are willing to learn it.
Later down the road people will start getting annoyed when not everyone already know it by then and things will get back to normal.![]()

Soooooooooooo...
Important point: I avoid 8 player raids (even normal), ex trials, etc. like the plague. I've tended to be a tourist in this game so my capacity to process and react to what is happening is slow. I learn slowly because of this, and also since I'm too busy running around and trying to heal and miss a lot of what's happening. So harder content is typically a no-go for me.
But I decided to try to do all the normals for this expansion. I did the first four (once) in the last expansion and didn't keep going.
Tonight I got through the first three, then a small emergency popped up in real life, then back again to try the fourth. All of us seemed to be trying but many of us were still obviously unpracticed. After a few wipes one the of the tanks says the next pull will be the last, off to work early in the morning, etc. No one is bothered and it makes sense after wiping between 49% and 30-something%. And right on queue, both healers (I was on WHM) and the RDM go down around 50% and by 48% not many are left. But the two tanks (both Paladins) and the Dragoon keep going. And going. And going - 40%, 30%, 20%, 15%...
The Dragoon eventually drops (but wow way to go!) and the tanks keep going. The dead keep the count down.
Aaaaaaand clear!
I didn't feel I deserved to roll on the minion so I passed.
Everyone was so patient and nice, and the dead got to see some really great players show us how it is done.
Thanks to all in that party for a great time!

When into the new raid with my FC mates and we cleared the first 3 with minimal of issues (1 wipe to the 2nd and 3rd bosses but no harm).
The 4th boss was an absolute nightmare though.
1st pull, One of the tanks D/C'd and never got to see the go-kart phase that killed us all.
2nd pull, we misunderstood the line aoe form as a "stay out of the line" and all fell off to our deaths.
3rd pull, miscellaneous shenanigans all around, with an additional body being added to the boss's kill count every few seconds.
4th pull, the single biggest clutch save I've ever had. Panic during bombs and tile explosions caused 7/8 of us to die with the SMN being the lone survivor. They rezzed me on my WHM while the boss went after them and I was able to rez the tank. SMN ate the Tank buster so I was busy keeping the Tank and myself alive while I awaited swiftcast to return as LB 3 isn't even up yet and the boss is at like 60% or so. That full anxiety fueled minute was awful. Bombs, AoEs everywhere, Tank gets a vuln stack just before Tank buster, etc. Swiftcast comes back up and I rez the SCH and he rezzes the other Tank and we just desperately try to survive until LB3 is up while boss is hopping around the arena. LB3 goes off, everyone gets rezzed and we recover to clear the fight.
The satisfaction for clearing was nothing short of orgasmic after that run.
Sirensong sea PUG as tank, both dps still on cutscene, both are sprouts, suddenly healer doing grovel emote.
the other dps is pretty much the same, just change the highest to BRD
1st and 2nd boss is total mess, 1st boss add spawn and both dps didnt bother to hit, 2nd boss both dps keep getting charmed and one die because of that continues fire pillar attack thingy
i can hear the healer screaming at that point lol
you guys are now complaining about doing levelling pugs with actual levelling people? ....this is why no one can talk about parsing.Sirensong sea PUG as tank, both dps still on cutscene, both are sprouts, suddenly healer doing grovel emote.

So, aside from not klling things as fast as the game will allow, did they actually do anything wrong?
nevermind you eventually got to that later.

Helped some friends get through Ghimlyt Dark so they can start ShB and I became that Tales From the Duty Finder person. ;-;
Ran as WHM and I forgot so many mechanics as I haven't done GD in forever and it was my first time healing this particular one. Trash packs were easy peasy. The bosses, however... Wipe on first boss due to me eating rotation mechanic and four wipes on the last boss because I just couldn't handle the airstrike mechanic and kept getting caught in the explosions. Also wiped to the final attack because of no limit. I've been so happy lately because I've been doing pretty good on heals, but this hurt the pride.
To that tank from Leviathan, you were a paragon of patience to stick it out as we went through it. I didn't deserve your comm and you deserve all of the comms in the world. Tomorrow's a new day to try again and hopefully not mess up again.

Is there some unwritten Monk code I don't know about in regards to how to handle Titania Ex? If they aren't stealing tethers from the OT, they're not standing in their puddle. If they're standing in their puddles they often ignore the post-Sephirot punch stack mechanic because 'my deeps'. Etc, etc, etc. I've run Titania successfully twenty times now and the only Monk that didn't make me want to brain myself was a friend who queued with me.
Though none was as bad as the Monk I ran into today during a farm party. All those complaints? Yeah. He did all of that. He also killed me and the other healer on brambles because 'my deeps', one time even going so far as to stack with the tanks/healers for the punch because of his 'uptime', and was just generally a nasty piece of work. He was so allergic to admitting his mistakes that he even tried to turn his refusal to his 'yes' on the ready check we put out before heading into the instance as somehow the rest of the party's fault. He was waiting on /us/ apparently. Nevermind that he never indicated he was there for a solid three minutes and refused to hit ready before throwing out that snippy remark. The rest of the instance was pretty much the same with many a wipe being helmed at the monk's hands...
We ended up clearing /SOMEHOW/ and the monk weapons dropped... Never have I heard the sound of six other people simultaneous yell epitaphs from around the globe, but I could feel their anger in my soul then... It ended well though, we kicked him right after we zoned out and kept the farm going successfully for almost ten more runs. Had a blast too because somehow that toxic monk brought us all together and broke the proverbial ice between everyone who stayed, to the point that we were still joking about it two hours later when we called it a night.
Hey, you. You lift that chin and you keep healing. We need people like you.
Commence Air Strike hurt my pride too when I was the healer. It's humiliating to die to it in a pug.
I tanked Ghimlyt about 20 times. Out of roughly 20 healers, 2 survived Commence Air Strike, and of those two, 1 died to another mechanic. I am not joking.
So, don't worry about it. Dying to Commence Air Strike and wiping a party is now a rite of passage for healers.
