He was never coming on to you in the first place and he's just being friendly. If you thought he was wanting that then you obviously missed the entire point of the story. I get it maybe you have the hots for the guy but sorry that's not how it went.

Doesn't that EX mechanic also give a hefty healing debuff?From playing Thordan EX, I have concluded that the actual issue is that he did the mechanic correctly but nobody else knew to join him for the unmarked line stack. ;_;
More seriously, I have to figure that there's a point where a good healer knows that a healing spell won't do anything except prolong the person's suffering - and a mortal wound bleeding crystalised aether is probably it.
Eeh.. I've seen savage encounters do worse.
The tank certainly never complained. :P
No, I don't think he's "coming onto me" but he did make a very beautiful mental image of going on an adventure together. Also I have a very G-rated mind. Like, nothing that wouldn't be shown in a Disney move.
"Ride the eternal winds" conjures up a sort of dream-sequency image - of them taking to the air in that sunset glow and traveling to untold mysteries together. At the point G'raha describes this to us, it's a longing for something that can never be, because soon enough he will sacrifice himself for us, and he'll never be able to even explain or apologise for his actions, but just for that one moment he lets down his guard as much as he dares to express his true feelings to us - whatever you may interpret them to be.
Also: I am not my character. Personally I think G'raha is adorable and absolutely love him as a character, but certainly don't have a romantic interest in him. Or anyone.
I'm seeing potential romance here from the position of a storyteller, not a participant.
Yeah, I almost mentioned that too but I wasn't sure of the specifics. I've never actually had to deal with the healing part of it, only having run the battle unsynched at Lv70, in which case it only comes up right at the end of the fight if at all - but you do need to deal with it correctly or it wipes the party.
On a side note: I think his manner of speaking was absolutely beautiful throughout the entire game, not only when it comes to the fate of the world or his subjects, but especially when it comes to the WoL/D. Very pictorial and powerful stuff, like, wow.No, I don't think he's "coming onto me" but he did make a very beautiful mental image of going on an adventure together. Also I have a very G-rated mind. His speeches had me in tears more than once, but maybe that's just me.
Hence, while there's nothing explicidly stating he has the hots for the WoL/D (because of course), the potential to see his relationship to the WoL/D in a romantic light is clearly there, at least in my opinion. Sure, we're dealing with a serious case of hero worship here, there's no denying that. However, I do believe that one does not necessarily exclude the other, like some here have tried to suggest. Human relationships are usually more complex than this, and I don't see any reason why it couldn't be the case here.
Based on what the Exarch says and how he says it, it's clear that he's longing to be with the WoL/D. He outright states this much at the end, when he stretches out his hand at the portal after WoL/D went through. Whether that longing is purely platonic or if something else can be read into it as well... that is up to the player to decide for themselves. Unless, of course, there's a clear indication at some point that it's totally not it, but so far a lot of what I heard here that speaks against this interpretation of their relationship boils down to "Nah, don't wanna".
So yeah, in light of their (imo) not so clear-cut relationship... Yes please to an option. I'm all for options anyway, so... yep, totally in favor of it.

No.
Aldebert
/End
We merged souls with Ardbert. And he had his WHM. He got his flirting. :P (I do love Ardbert, though. I will admit that he's pretty cool.)
@Dot21g Everything you said, basically.
I've been humming Eternal Wind to myself all day. I don't know whether to be happy or irritated. lol
considering the exarch is pretty darn old, I don't think it'd be appropriate.
The age difference is something I think about, sometimes. He's lived a couple extra lifetimes in the short years since the WoL has seen him.
But I also sort of think of him like the Doctor, who is several thousand years old, and people had no qualms about shipping him with Rose in Dr. Who.
I mean, a couple things:
1. The WoL is typically a consenting adult of varying ages themselves, so its not like its a relationship involving a minor or something?
2. Old people deserve love, too. :P
3. He's kind of not actually an old man, despite chronological age, cus time travel and tower merging shenanigans. So I don't really think his age is an issue, beyond it giving him more experience in life than us and subsequently more baggage. But clearly our presence in his life seems to help with that last bit.
If his age really does squick you out, though, you'll get no judgement from me. I just don't see it as a problem, personally, is all I'm saying.
