Next expansion.... a healer would be nice /salty
As far as unreleased established jobs... chemist is all that is left. I never viewed Geomancer as a healer, but that would be ok too.
Alternatively they could just make something new to the series.

Switch Gunbreaker to Melee DPS
add a Tank Job as Defender or Viking
add a Green Mage or Time Mage as Healer
add a beast master or puppet master as solo range DPS

Yea if you go into swallow's compass the geomancer mobs do not act anything like ast or cnj and with the fact they have not been adding more aero, water or earth spells for WHM, it makes me think they will be giving those to a new job. Maybe Geo will be a..... *looks around and whispers* a magic melee job. I really have no idea but I would love to see it.I would like Geomancer, tbh. There's the common argument of "it's just the eastern version of CNJ/AST" but I don't think mechanically that it needs to behave the same. Lorewise, sure it's basically an AST. But that really only implies that the aethers are the same, not that their spells need to behave similarly. Visually, it could be a bell swinging CNJ as a DPS, but it could use more water or wind, rather than stone, and have aoe support spells (which would be the "AST" aspect of buffing your allies).
I don't think it's very likely with 5.0, but I can hope.
I just want a healer...
Honestly after Dancer and now that Blue isn't an option... Pretty much every class thats iconic to me is in the game now. I guess Geo is pretty iconic to some people too? In which case I want it because they want it.
Any healer and Geo. Thats my pick

I keep wondering if Yoshida was like "don't think on Gaia's weapon much" but as soon as we're introduced to her she'll be weaving elements . . . It wouldn't be unusual to hint at a job before it's released (for FFXIV). Plus her name is Gaia.. XD.Yea if you go into swallow's compass the geomancer mobs do not act anything like ast or cnj and with the fact they have not been adding more aero, water or earth spells for WHM, it makes me think they will be giving those to a new job. Of course the weapon can be just "for fun" like the new dwarf weapons.. but.. eh.. it wouldn't be the first time Yoshida tried to magician us with misdirection haha. Beyond a new NPC with a unique weapon type, being able to introduce the job.
There is- Spoiler on Eden raid (not huge imo, but w.e if you don't want info then don't open lol)-
Add that we're restoring elements to the land, a job being introduced relating to elements and particularly of the land would be rather fitting. Also adding some first shard lore to geomancer would help with some of the lore massaging (since Geomancer is partially already introduced in the source)
Not that I think it's confirmed or anything but I find it "plausible".

At one point, they will need to stop adding jobs, or else the game will become a mess !
A game with 20 jobs or more can't work properly (unless all jobs become extremely similar).

This is something I've been wondering about for a few months now. When are we gonna get to the point where the devs will stop releasing jobs? It must be super hard for them to juggle all of 'em.
Family Medicine doctor.
Constantly learning.

I would love to get a chocobo knight and they could share armor with a dragoon!
