The loose sound that you hear it is supposed to be loosed like a gun in real life ,gun need a lot of metal part assembled together they are suppose to represent the sound of metal part clicking bashing together. It's completely fine here. There is the slicing sound when you hit the object. But if your camera is away from the object it will be a low sound. Try to change it, or get your camera closer.
The new sounds are super good. I really liked the wicked talon, it's so impactful now.
Theold sound it really bad, it's like we are fighting with a toy or a loose weapon that were not tightened well.
If there's something wrong, I wish they improve the new one, and never go back to the old one.
The thing people were complaining about is how "muted" the explosions sounded. Basically noone complained about the cool slicing sounds, those were sleek and nice. Now it feels like I'm swinging a baseball bat :/

Yeah, I really enjoyed the older sound effects. Maybe a tiny little bump to the explosions, but nothing too crazy. I can't stand the sound effects now, they sound just terrible to me. Really, really disappointed. Sounds like I'm swinging a pool noodle around.

It's funny how everyone was complaining about not liking the gnb slicing sound. Then with the new patch they removed it and now everyone wants the slicing sound back.
It isn't funny. It's listening to the vocal minority while everyone who was fine with it was in the game playing it.

The slicing sound was a complaint because the real draw, the trigger pulling, was weighed down because of it. Instead of adjusting the sounds for the cartridge abilities, they adjusted the whole thing.
Instead of using a chisel to refine the edges, they just pickaxe'd the entire thing. Sure now we see the gem that is the cartridge abilities, but the surface is ruined for it.

Gunbreaker was created to resemble Squall or a gunblade user in it's various appearances, and not a gun. And it's not a gun, it's a gunblade, it's supposed to be impactful and not weak and loose. In none of the gunblade appearances it sounded weak like that and that just does not make any sense. It's much better now.
It's a sword. It has an edge. How can you be okay with it having a blunt sound on the regular, non cartridge combo? It sounds like I'm hitting the enemy with the wrong side of the blade.Gunbreaker was created to resemble Squall or a gunblade user in it's various appearances, and not a gun. To clarify. Its explosions sound good now, Fated Circle is finally decent, our aoe combo doesn't sound as annoying, the gnasing fang combo even sounds more impactful (maybe could use more emphasis on the slicing though).
What DIDN'T NEED a change however, was our main cartridge obtaining combo. You felt the combo, the click sound of the third hit and the explosion was there. The sword still felt heavy, but it had a crisp clean swing to it. Then there's prolly my east favorite change.... Blasting Zone. It already fet like it had this sudden burst and MMPH to it when it slammed down. Now it sounds muffled and... like it blends with everything else. When I was raiding today, I couldn't tell when I was hitting something because now my sword sounds like a mallet, like a bludgeon weapon I'm swinging and bapping things with, that also happens to have a good sounding explosion finally. I was an FF8 fan, and also played dissidia, but I'm sorry I need our old keen edge combo back and our old blasting zone. I'll take everything else with stride, but THIS is why I didn't complain about the new sounds. They don't just fix one area like making the explosions louder, they redo all of the things. I didn't want them to change the keen edge combo, but... well.... enjoy?
