I used the Trust system for my first time experience and it was very interesting to see the NPC's reactions to what was going on. Especially the last MSQ dungeon. Wow. It was also great to have the opportunity to learn the new dungeons without having to rush. Now that I finished MSQ I feel kind of reluctant to use Trusts again because I have to level them up first and DF is usually more fun and is a lot faster to clear the dungeon. During queue waiting times I level with Fates or sidequests which feel more rewarding than running dungeons with Trusts again. Which is kind of sad.

I love the trust system. It allows me to be able to play while I'm at work. To hard to join groups when I'm working so I always ran crap with my squadren. At least now I can do current stuff while I'm working

We get it, no one else plays as well as you do. You're the best. You win FFXIV. *insert very obvious eye roll here*
I understand you're a new player and probably feel intimidated by the mention of levels or time-to-complete, but make no mistake - levels do not mean anything but how the player chose to dedicate their time in-game.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since I hated "pro players" when I was starting out with the game as well, but everyone hates them until they actually play the game long enough to become one of them. In fact, I hardly consider myself a hardcore raider, since I have never completed Ultimate. There are plenty of ways to progress in-game and not all of it has to be through raiding. I do apologize if my post was interpreted as elitist in any way. I intended it to be as inclusive as possible!

Legit 50% of my human runs leave me wishing I had just used trust.
Don't gotta worry about the trust not knowing what to do cause they're yoloing it (Which isn't bad by it's self, but If I'm leveling I'm LEVELING and I want in and out asap. At cap I'm far more chill about it cause by then it's all either glam or tome farm)

I like the NPC banter but it is kind of painful how long the runs take due to them doing such low DPS coupled with no AoE during trash pulls.

The AI knows their place.
The closest I get to doing this is as a Healer is moving past the trash pack we're on, not far enough to pull the next one, but far enough to let the tank know that I kind of wanted him to keep going. If they don't move to get more, I just start DPSing, but sometimes it works to give the tank a nudge that the Healer is perfectly happy with a larger pull.

I have never actually seen a DPS pull ahead of the tank on purpose in a ShB dungeon. I've had plenty of atrocious runs .. But never seen anyone pull for the tank. Not saying it doesn't happen, you just might be super unlucky lol.

I just wish they didn't take so many runs to level up. Doesn't make sense they take 4 times longer than you do.

I've had a few in ShB dungeons run just ahead of me to force me to keep up with them in order to prevent them from pulling by accident. Like they're pulling me by the wrist because they can't be arsed to spend an extra minute in the dungeon. They'll run up as far as they can before stopping, sometimes even before the current fight is done. They often pull when I stop to receive Adloquium or something, because I stop in order to receive it without accidentally causing the healer to pull the mobs with it, and naturally DPS players have no brakes and run right beside or ahead of me. It's like someone in the back seat trying to steer the car or step on the pedal even though they're not the one driving. It just gets on my nerves. I'll get there, they don't need to force my hand.

I think the trust system is a great idea for leveling dps jobs. Healers and tanks can get fast queues most of the time, but dps queues can be massive at times, up to 20 minutes for example. Even if a trust run takes 30+ minutes to complete, you'll still be coming out ahead as a dps, since the queue is instant. The only thing I don't like is how long it takes to level the characters.

Although tank queues are usually instant, it can be stressful trying to learn a dungeon for the first time with a bunch of impatient people, and I refuse to watch videos for story-related content. So being able to do it with trusts as a tank let me learn and make mistakes without getting yelled at or kicked. Or being forced to race through the dungeon and not remember any of it.
