Also can someone please enter the next fan fest cosplay contest as a male viera or as a "male viera" and its really just a Hrothgar hiding in a bush with bunny ears on.

I just wanted to finally add my two cents to this conversation. My account was already in cancellation (not due to this subject) and I couldn't comment, but now I'm live and can.

I want 100000000000000% want male viera (and female ronso), not seeing it as a choice was very VERY crushing for me, and it took a friend of mine a full months convincing to even get Shadowbringers.

I didn't think that Yoshi could fail me as a fan of his so hard until I saw that news. I've read many of the recent postings, and want to join in the positive hopes that we will eventually get our male viera.

For the integrity of the final fantasy world's lore, I vote no male viera. There is no sense in breaking lore and be inclusive only for inclusivity's sake. I am reminded of when Kingdom Come: Deliverance took criticism for not featuring a plethora of races; reason being there were not a plethora of races in medieval Bohemia. They didn't budge, good for them. Don't budge SE!!

Oops I may have broken the lore by riding my car around the Dravanian wilderness...also flying with it...and when I finally get into Shadowbringers I am so getting that frog suit. If people can deal with this then they can deal with men that have bunny ears.

While I understand not budging for the sake of inclusion, Yoshi admitted the reason for no males Viera wasn't really due to lore and more to do with this being "the last race" and wanting to have more diverse models.(They wanted to make male and female Hrothgar but knew people wanted Viera and chose to split them to please the dev team and the community) He even stated to Mr. Happy in an interview he was surprise people wanted them. The creator of Viera also doesn't have a problem with males... so lore was just a was to excuse to why that wouldn't have been there. Yoshi wants to please everyone but he is only one man.

Yes, I full heartedly agree. Rathalos and I believe that Square should stick their ground and should add more lore friendly content. I for one am fully prepared to take part in NieR Final Fantasy - I haven't played the original NieR final fantasies but I've been told it's the best final fantasy to date, so far. Second after Monster Hunter World Final Fantasy of course, which has my favourite Dragoon, 'Happy Fiver'.

Now I really must go, checking my Yokai watch I believe it is time for slumber.

Why not relax while waiting?
It's not like you thinking about it daily will speed it up or anything.
What's the saying again? "A watched kettle never boils". Or something like that.
One can push for an idea without letting the idea consume oneself.
Relax and enjoy the game as it is right now.

This argument has been debunked over and over and over again. If we follow lore there is one person on the game, if we follow lore there are also no male mi'qote allowed to be played (this is the most played male race in the game) because they are just as rare as male viera, if we follow lore there is exactly ONE white mage and ONLY one white mage. Lore argument is absolutely dead, there is nothing for it to stand on at all, lets please PLEASE move past this.

Also is there a stronger argument, not that their needs to be or should, than 'inclusivity's sake'? Like at all?

Agreed. I really like how the male viera in this art looks. I also like the height comparisons below the female viera art on the left. It ranges between being slightly shorter than females, to being taller.

I do like that the face has rabbit-like features, and is a bit like miqo'te.

To be fair, I don't think the game really acknowledges other player's characters too often anyway, and when they do they are just other adventurers. Even if 9/10 were male viera, people it wouldn't break the lore because of that, it would be when male viera NPCs would start flooding the cities.

Actually there is a perfectly reasonable lore explanation of why something like the flying car would be included, and the description of it and others will usually have something clever. Frog suit is lore friendly though, even if it looks dumb. It is not the same.
