    Maintaining or even reducing the number of roles will not improve the average player quality in any noticeable way, if at all.

    That said, if we're to believe the devs, adding enough jobs more may eventually ensure that everyone can play any job, since apparently all have to share from a finite amount of space for skills that we've already hit the limits of, meaning that each additional job will have to reduce the skill count (and thereby likely the complexity) of the jobs we already have...

    Reading the replies here... I thought of seeing chemist play like a ninja or dancer with a mix command... That would be a very interactive play style for healing.

    Although I still would prefer songstress as a healer still. That would make a great party with dancer and bard on DPS... Oh and the tank would have to me the Mascot class where you are forced to wear one of the giant costumes as glamor because that is where your defense comes from. Lots of padding in those suits.

    I really liked illusionist and elementalist from final fantasy tactics! I don't know how they should implement it as a job for ffxiv though...

    I think that geomancer would be an interesting addition to the game, deploying different kinds of fields to buff or debuff.

    Shaman would also be interesting, using totems to create auras or something.

    Gunbreaker job quest trainer is clearly very bias, how could you honestly describe that weapon or the fighting style used as "just a gun with a blade attached"?

    Lifestream Priestess - Inspiration: Aerith Final Fantasy 7
    A Healing/Offensive Support Class.
    Aerith's limit breaks healed, but also increased limit break meters of her party members. This could translate into buffing character's offensive abilities or, straight up, having the ability to use stacks of their resource to increase a party's limit break meters. More limit breaks are an interesting mechanic.

    Feral - Inspiration: Gau Final Fantasy 6
    A Pugilist DPS Class
    Unarmed attacks and beast stances that focus on different abilities. This class would be all about learning monster abilities and stance switching. Have the abilities do different things depending on the stance. Bear Stance - Single target DPS, Hawk Stance - Faster attacks with toughness debuffs, Bandersnatch stance - AoE.

    White Knight - Inspiration: Cecil Final Fantasy 4
    Tank role.
    Now, you're saying, "Cecil was a Paladin!" And, yes, you're right, he was. However Cecil was a TRUE Paladin. In order for him to become a Paladin he needed to go through an ordeal at Mt. Ordeal and he changed from a Dark Knight into a Paladin. This is the evolution of Light over Darkness. It is the advanced form of a Paladin that surpassed the Dark Knight. This would straddle the line between Tank and DPS - A more offensive warrior of purity, which is a unique twist on Good and Light always being passive.
