Some people take the fact that there is even an option to mean that they are having said choice forced upon them regardless of the fact that it is optional, I remember quite a few of these types of complaints when I was reading up on the Mass Effect series.
Well, ok. Yeah, they exist. (Clearly I had succeeded in blocking their existence out of my mind, so how dare you? :P)
On another note entirely, should we count the ability to just walk up to G'raha post-MSQ and say his name at him out of the blue to *be* a flirt? lol Also, its a bit odd they're phrasing it as "Call him G'raha Tia" as opposed to actually telling you a line you are saying. Is the WoL really just walking up to him and he's all "Oh, you're back already? Is anything amiss?" and the WoL just stands there, thinks about it a sec, and goes "G'raha Tia." and... nothing else? lol
Not that his body language when you do it isn't more than enough of a response to make it worth it, of course. lol
I'm curious about this. Bioware has always been very liberal with their options. I do not recall these complaints. They have always tried so hard to add options for everyone, I'm honestly surprised there were any objections. 0.o
If you all want that then go play dragon age inquisition and mass effect or any of those other games they are out there.
those games are made for taking different paths this game isn't no matter what those optional cutscenes were I seen them as jokes to put a little humor into the game might I say a good damn job of it also I laughed all the way through the game.
the stuff you all are asking for if I wanted to play final fantasy sims I would go buy that game but it isn't and excuse me if I don't share in the same vision as everyone who wants the options I signed up for a adventure not romance.
you might chew me out but don't try to change my mind about it id sooner take my money elsewhere than to support a sims game.
I love this game but not that much lol

To be fair, that’s like saying if you want a purple car you should have bought that one. Some cars are purple. You haven’t really presented an argument for or against, tbh. Just because Mass Effect or Dragon Age had something doesn’t mean FFXIV can’t have it.If you all want that then go play dragon age inquisition and mass effect or any of those other games they are out there.

Did you play FF7? Did you take anyone to the Gold Saucer? Did it ultimately hurt the experience or even matter which one you took? Optional romance is optional and could be done without having an impact on things beyond itself and the player experience. If you all want that then go play dragon age inquisition and mass effect or any of those other games they are out there.

Besides, Emet-Selch was basically Fen'Harel this expansion, so we kind of are playing Dragon Age.
The thing with FF7 is different. Cloud isn't someone you made and could mold into something you want.Did you play FF7? Did you take anyone to the Gold Saucer? also about the valentines, yeah it maybe required to pick a partner but that whole quest is optional where the msq isn't.
But honestly, there is no point in keeping the convo going. Since its just going to go back and forth
Either way, this will never happen so I have no idea why I'm even trying to convince some of you.
This won't even be a thing since most "think" there is a romance undertone when it isn't since nobody seems to understand what admiration seems to looks like and our WoL isn't attracted to anybody cannon wise.
Honestly, if someone - in RL - told you that he or she wants to stay by your side, constantly praises you and cares about your wellbeing, you would never guess that that person might possibly have feelings for you? Ok, it might "only" be admiration, but the borders between admiration and romance are fluid. And it`s impossible to say that one is there without a hint of the other.
