ShB bard has turned me into a ball of rage and depression

It would seem the Japanese survey regarding class changes is out. Red is satisfied (strong red = very satisfied) and blue is not satisfied.

As expected from reading about healing, people are not happy about changes to AST and SCH (with only about a fourth being satisfied). MNK is the DPS whose changes are the most unsatisfactory, with BRD coming in far 2nd place.

I'm still gathering up my thoughts on how the class can evolve buff-wise for the next expansion (as my family says: "you can't complain without offering solutions"), but Soul Gauge is where the potential shines the most for sure.

Still, I really have to wonder if those polls, how long did the guy leave it up before the results. How many people and if those people main the job they voted...or just trying it around and have opinion on jobs they don't understand.

Currently that is the case but I think bards will get buffed in the first balance wave realistically

Given that in most cases a lot of what’s written on it seems to go against any other source . Imma say it’s not entirely accurate.

There are vastly more summoners then machinists, vastly more dragoons then BLMs.. i think it’s simply the poll has been released in areas which are full of people with complaints. So the people in the game enjoying themselves aren’t seeing it.

MCH may be stronger, but BRD is also pretty strong itself for being a ranged DPS. We also have lower personal damage because we still have utility in the form of Battle Voice to our party (+20% Direct Hit for 20s every 180s), where as MCH no longer buffs the party (they only have Tactician, but since it’s the equivalent of BRD’s Troubadour and DNC’s Shield Samba, it doesn’t really count). So it would make sense for it to have higher personal damage compared to BRD. That said, BRD’s damage is nothing to scoff at right now.

MCHs are placing at 5th in terms of damage so far, with BRD at 7th, and the margin between the two isn’t that substantial at percentiles. BRD is still doing more damage than RDM, DNC, and NIN (in that order), with MCH doing less than BLM, SAM, MNK, and DRG (the melee trade spots at some percentiles; BLM remains at the top). And we don’t know what the rDPS gain of BV is currently—I don’t think that will be known until Savage drops. But you’re acting like BRD is a weak job right now when it’s not. It’s doing better than some, even with its loss of utility.

I’m still sad that I lost a lot of my utility, but leveling the job isn’t a terrible experience otherwise. It plays more or less the same except with more AOE power and more Refulgent proc chances.

Give Bard a buff that increase potency & duration of other buff by 50% and they'll be loved by all again.

You should inform the speed killers then because current Innocence and Titania EX uploads has Bard utterly slaughtering Machinist and Dancer in terms of representation. Bard may well need a buff depending how Direct Hit scales but Battle Voice isn't a slouch right now.

BRD’s damage is nothing to scoff at right now.

I said the same thing a few pages back and for some reason people felt insulted.
