Well, let me ask you this, then: what would you prefer? Taking 100k damage in one big burst? Or taking 10k damage per second over 10 seconds? Any non-white mage would probably have a stroke if the tank suddenly takes 100k damage, considering we have a total of around 120-130k hp (I think) at 80, as of 5.0.

Delete Living Dead? Why? If anything, it would work best *with* LD. Think about it. You're at 30k hp and you're about to take a buster that will definitely kill you. Activate this Delirium and that damage is absorbed and staggered. Once the damage starts ticking, and you know for sure the healers can't bring you back up, turn on LD. While you're taking that staggered damage, on top of the damage the boss is currently slapping you in the face with, you remain at 1 hp, thus triggering Walking Dead, giving your healers that much more time to heal you. You can also cast TBN to absorb some of that DoT to not only help out your healers but give you another chance at Edge/Flood. All the better if there's a white mage in the team, but not required. A scholar can throw out a recitation + adlo, on top of your TBN, to absorb even more of the DoT and whatever else the boss is doling out.

This assumes, of course, that the SCH and AST can bring you back up. Shouldn't be too hard with the big bump in healing power they got from this xpac. Plus, one of the biggest complaints of healing is that there isn't enough to heal, right?

AST got a healing nerf this expac. It is the weakest healer currently in DPS and healing. Not to mention the card effects are not strong enough and homogenized (they all only buff damage by 3% (wrong target), 4% (Minor Arcana wrong target), 6% (correct target), or 8% (Minor Arcana correct target) for 15 seconds) to the point where it does not make up for the lack of healing and DPS output. The current AST is not like the HW/SB one that could have thrown an extra 30% DR on you for 30-55 seconds while they healed you.

What you're suggesting to the devs is "Give DRK 2 invuln skills" which sadly doesn't fix the fact that DRK was too streamlined to the point where it's boring to play...

Tanking skills(or lack thereof) suck, The Blackest Night is a DPS loss when shield doesn't break. But why would you waste 3k MP for a DPS a loss when you could spend the exact same 3k MP on a DPS gain? And if The Blackest Night gave 50 Blood gauge on top of free Edge/Flood of Darkness/Shadow, when the shield breaks then it's a big DPS gain.

And then you have the fact that physical and magical damage is causing balancing issues just like resistance down debuffs, meaning they need to rework how all skills that affect either physical or magical damage into straight up damage reduction, no type of damage needed to make the most out of the skill(also how are we supposed to know what's physical damage and what's magical damage because tells on the boss don't help much)...

DRK lacks an identity and magic tank isn't a good identity because PLD does a way better job at that with Spelltron, and DRK doesn't fill either main tank or off tank role right now, it's just a DPS that's in the wrong role...

The only identity you could give DRK right now is the lifesteal identity but the devs are too afraid of making that happen again because of what happened with WAR in the past, and honestly they only way to counter that is by making a healer that is literally a DPS, so that way the devs can finally balance content around healer DPS, but also can choose to balance around heal checks and mitigation checks, but we all know the devs won't do it out of fear that such a concept will break the game balance...
