Nope, Dragon Age origins is one of my favourite RPGs of all time and had a pretty good story to boot (by BioWare standards).
Guess what that game didn't have? A voiced protagonist, it's simply not necessary to tell a good story.

Hell Morrowind also comes to mind. You barely have any dialogue options to flesh out your character in that game beyond the MSQ and it still tells one of the most epic stories in RPG history. I honestly miss the days when silent protagonists were the norm.

Yes, because I want to go through the whole situation where I have to listen to my character to speak in a voice that doesn't fit them outside of the casual emotes. Or have the voice actor deliver their lines lacklustre that makes my character look like a ninny. Or I pick an line that I believe have a sarcastic/serious/playful tone and then it's actually the complete opposite when voiced. Heck no. RPGs were amazing when you didn't have a voiced actor. And those who do have a voiced protag and is done well have extremely well-paid voice actors that are amazing at their jobs - yet obviously a huge resource investment.
I'd suggest waiting for cyberpunk 2077 or something.
We just had this topic.

And no, it would not be a good thing to put in anymore. Lines like Thancred's about our "stoic nods" and a certain spoilery thing in SB2 that was already mentioned above would lose all of their impact.

Absolutely not. I like my character not being voiced, that way I can imagine what she says, how she sounds, her inflections, and so on. Like most, I have a specific personality for my character, and she likely would not react the way someone elses' would. VA would kill that and add next to nothing to the experience, and I'm clearly not alone in this view.
The extra time/money spent recording multiple voices is another factor... it's just an unnecessary expense, and I'd rather they focus on other things.

No thanks I like my protagonist silent, my character voice sounds better in my head than a voice that the dev have to pick one for me.
Common sense is not so common anymore.

Guess what? Mass Effect was better. And it had a voiced protagonist.

> Mass Effect was better
That's just like, your opinion man... not fact.
I've seen this thrown around a lot. I prefer male Shep, but the female VA delivers her lines better.
Same issue in SWTOR tbh. I thought the Male Inquisitor had the best VA. Others disagree.
