Yeah. I use Japanese dialogue, but seeing as the ancients aren't actually speaking Japanese there, it doesn't really help with knowing what was actually said. I'll see if I can go back and watch the scene with Emet-Selch and confirm if he specifies in his spoken dialogue. There's a good chance he doesn't, though, just because of how much Japanese omits pronouns.

Fairly certain that the voice-acting and dialogues were made so as to change the pronouns based on if our character were male or female. I play with Japanese dialogue, so of course my character is referred to as a female in the few instances where the Japanese uses male/female pronouns. However, I’m also certain that, should I Fantasia into a male character, they would replace the female pronouns with male ones. It’s very possible that the scenes have two VA recordings, and which one plays is determined based on our character’s gender. I doubt that male characters are referred to as “彼女” (“kanojo”; “she/her”), and are instead referred to as “彼” (“kare”; “he/him”). On the occasions we aren’t referred to by the myriad of pronouns for “you”.

I play both Male and a female character my male character is my main and I can 100% confirm that there is two different recordings atleast in English for both genders. It is also in the written dialogue as well.

Typically, yes; but contextually it doesn't entirely make sense for the gender of the Ascian to change with the gender of the WoL, especially when we know that the WoL doesn't have to be the same gender (as indicated by Ardbert). The only reason I can see for it to match our WoL's gender is if our WoL is complete enough due to the previous rejoinings to always match up to the gender of the original Ascian, but that honestly feels like it'd be one of those contrivances just to enforce gender conformity. But with Ardbert being male, even if you're female, that kinda makes such a contrivance irrelevant as there's still gender non-conformity in that respect. But, either way, I want to see if the scene actually references gender in the first place, because if Emet-selch doesn't specify at all, then the scene becomes useless for determining which they did.

Possibly, and we were 6 rejoinings closer to being whole when we were born, whereas Ardbert was still just a single fragment. TIL, men are watered down women. X3

Anyway, rather than the true name, I'm actually more interested in the title. The convocation had 14 members, 12 of which were named after scions of light. What are the remaining 2 titles?

Elidibus is one. The names are based on the 12 scions of light and Elidibus from the Midlight's Deep bonus dungeon in Tactics: War of the Lions, who is paired with Zodiark.

The 14th is a mystery, though they left the convocation, leaving it with 13 members at the time of the sundering, so maybe some Ivalice inspired name relating to that.

This link will bring you to the list of names for the Espers of XII and their corresponding "Scion of Light" counterpart. As SilverArrow said Elidibus comes from War of the Lions thus the part that only shows Zodiark should include that in your mind. Ultima was originally a Scion of Light instead of Darkness, Zodiark is probably supposed to be her counterpart. As well their are only 13 of the Scions meaning this list doesn't show who the "14th" member we are all wondering about would be.

As an aside going by the names, the ones we know are dead: Loghrif, Mitron, Emet-Selch, Nabriales, Igeyorhm, and Lahabrea.

The unknowns are Pashtarot (who I think actually did show up in an early ARR cutscene in an Ascian meeting?), Fandaniel, Halmarut, Deudalaphon, Emmerololth, and whoever would have been Ultima's "Dark" version. Of course it is possible the 14th is actually supposed to be Ultima (which makes the Ivalice raid even MORE akward) but that still leaves an open slot that isn't based on the Ivalice Scions of Light and Dark.

We also don't know what red masks that Gaius is carrying belong to I think? Which is why I have the list of unknowns instead of as alive.

As a funny aside Emet-Selch's title is the "Angel of Truth". So if any Ascian would tell us the truth even by accident giving a creation of his that ability it would be him.

At the akademy dungeon they seemed to fear pegasus aswell. Hence the creation was made.(if u read the notes inside the dungeon)

Thank you! I really should look over these scenes instead of going on only memory but using Altima does make sense. So that just leaves our mysterious 14th. Plus the true names.
