If we add another Aether world more people would immediately transfer over from Crystal to Aether making it immediately congested which will make the population balance more skewed.

Just got to figure out why people don't want to play on Crystal.

1. Perception that raiding is worse there. It's really not.
2. RPers are automatically considered bad and have cooties.
3. Crystal is now smaller and thus not worth joining, which is a self-fulfilling prophecy at this point.
4. A good chunk of the big and famous youtubers/twitch people are on Primal and Aether.

It's a lot of things really.

They should add servers to all three NA data centers and temporarily restrict them to transfers only, and further restrict the new Aether (and maybe Primal) servers so you cannot transfer character from the other two data centers, only from the same data center.

It's really not. I've been getting my clears pretty easy. Actually having an easier time here than my friends on Aether. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Balmung started as a mixed RP, mixed Raid server. A lot of us raid and a lot of us do Savage.

Well that's because Aether is congested not just standard with character creation disabled

It's not just Crystal that has an RP playerbase - I've literally seen people who RP on Primal/Aether too.
And plus, RPers play the game too, lol.

People aren't afraid of Primal RP because, from what I've seen, they don't even know how to RP. And it's such a minor community you'll never see them outside housing. Though yes, roleplayers play the game too, which is the most bizarre misconception likely stemmed from people idling in the QS... despite people idling in Limsa just as well.

Honestly, I don't feel too bad. Everyone neenered at Crystal when the split was announced, and then turned around to whine about Aether being locked up when they dogpiled on it because they were scared of the RP cooties. It's a completely player made problem and the only thing SE could do at this point is split Aether again and make people join Crystal (which obviously is a terrible idea).

They won't add new servers until every single one is full, and as of this post there is 10 open servers. Either deal with being on a congested server, or come to one of the open servers right now.

Time of day makes no difference, if a world is marked as congested it is closed to character creation no matter time of day or how many are currently on the server.

Standard servers are the ones that fluctuate with time of day and population currently on server.
