Also this brings up another question, assuming we are Hyd.. er the name of the ancient that took the lead in summoning Hydaelyn, why do we currently exist? Shouldn’t we have ceased to exist as a person as a sacrifice for her summoning if it was the same as the sacrifices for Zodiark? perhaps there is still more to the puzzle we are unaware of.

Well it seems Emet and the other Ascians we met along the way are tempered yet didn't get sacrificed, or maybe those sacrificed are the ones who got fractured/split into "husks" as Emet calls us.

I also don't think we're the guy who recognized we're a part of an Ascian's soul. He refers to us as "New old friend", would be a weird way to speak of himself. We're obviously an Ancient/Ascian, but more than likely not him from his wording.

I'd say it would be. From the way Emet spoke it seemed like the Ancients all had similar powers, albeit probably varied amongst the populace in actual ability. Not everyone with the Echo is as strong or accomplished as the WoL, so it's safe to assume the same for the Ancients/Ascians. Unless I'm remembering wrong, isn't only the 1st's version of Sahagin that refers to them as Ancients? Could just be a simple word used by them. Amaurotine would more or less be more apt than Ancient if Ascian isn't applicable.

Well the council seemed to be missing its 14th(go figure) member. I've seen theories suggesting that was the WoL un-fractured and they lead the summoning of Hydaelyn. But until we have concrete proof, it's just a theory.

I think Hydaelyn was born out people who want stop Zodark by they will sacrifice themselves to stop him they desire protect the new life shape who Hydaelyn became and shape her desire protect life. while Zodark was form out desire of selfishness take the lives other to restore what they themselves destroy by creator Zodark.

Well I think that might be more of a base form/natural state thing. In the cutscene after the dungeon and before the trial, for a split second Emet sees us as a giant(ess) in black robes with a completely darkened face rising up. Which was after Ardbert, the 1st's reflection of us, joined his soul with ours.

I definitely think he was trying to kill you during the trial as Hades. At that point I think he was fighting you out of desperation, but in the end he was at peace, and accepted his fate, and the fate of his people. In a way handing the torch over to the WoL. The one person he truly came to respect.

This would be what our true soul looks like, like the ascians. Emet recognized us when our soul was whole. From prior dialogue with Hythlodaeus, it is implied he had a feeling you were who he thought you truly were. He knew you. Think you covered this in your post, but I'll leave this anyway.

In the city you can actually see a younger one that is much shorter than the rest, and the size of the architecture implies this is their (our once) corporeal form. I think the ascians just wear masks and robes that reflect their true form in the bodies they inhabit.

Yeah I get that. Me and him were just talking about what Ascians/Ancients truly looked like. If the black robes and masks/weird faces were standard or just what Emet remembers. Don't see why he would remember wrong though, dude's so hard up about bringin' em back I don't think he'd miss a detail in appearance at least.

There's also when he unleashes his power he turns into.. whatever the hell that trial was. No idea if it's Zodiark's blessing or just what Ascians are truly capable of. Maybe both considering it looked.. weird, at least to me.

I didn't even think they looked like physical beings honestly. They look so weird I initially just misjudged them as coalesced aether around a soul or something lol
