Since you all seem to have been guessing at the Exarch's motives/intentions at some point, I'm curious... had you played the Crystal Tower raids prior to this, and if so did you guess who the Exarch was before the reveal?

Coming from the opposite direction and being certain it was G'raha since we got the first poster, I was wondering what it would be like if you didn't have assumptions about the Exarch's identity, or didn't even do the CT raids until afterwards.


(And if you haven't done CT yet, go do them. And then go rewatch the scenes after the Innocence and Hades trials with quest progression turned on to get the proper versions of those scenes.)

I was certain it was him the whole time, even though he denied it right at the start of the expansion when I brought it up. I wasn't sure if they were going to reveal it during the story, but I absolutely adored the scene where his hood is thrown back and we get the option to call him by name. I was very attached to his character during the Crystal Tower story, so this was an emotional moment for me. I love his reactions in the cutscenes where you can say his name.

I'm guessing that people who are indifferent and/or dislike his character in the CT story probably had different opinions, but for me, even though I guessed it, I loved the reveal.

It certainly took a dreadfully long time to get there, but I thought the reveal itself was well-done.

Same. I was looking forward to it for ages, and it was lovely to finally get there and see his face again. And I'm so glad he was okay in the end.

It just felt... I dunno, weak. Urianger and Emet stole the scene. But he redeemed himself for me almost immediately afterwards so that's fine.

Years ago I started the CT-questline but never finished it, cause I really started to like G'raha and then I read that we "loose" him at the end. So I never finished it to still have him around in Mor Dhona. Then I changed characters and prior to Shadowbringers I finished the MQ of Stormblood (which I haven't finished until may this year, cause I don't liked it that much and I had a break of more than one year in this game). When I came to the last MQs where you meet the "mysterious guy" I saw him and immediately thought: "OMG it's a Miqo'te!". Then he said something about the emitter at the crystal tower and I nearly jumped out of my chair and yelled at my husband "That's G'raha Tia, I swear!" XD After that we did the CT-story during the mogry-event to have it finished till the early access of Shadowbringers.
So I was 99,99% sure it's him or if not it's his ancestor. XD I never was so fast through a story in this game like this time to see if I was correct. XD

My husband did the CT-Quests with another character and now only has the lines like the people who never met G'raha. But you miss SO much if you haven't played the CT-Quests... Everybody should do them!

@Rivxkobe In my opinion that reveal was epic! I love this scene.
And I'm SO glad how it all ends. (The scene with him crying is the best! So sweet!) And he is so cute. I never choosed his face for my many male miqo'te but in his case I like it.

I did the Crystal Tower raids back when they were released, and I'd always thought that the Exarch was G'raha. It was a general belief in the community.
Still, even if G'raha seemed to be kind hearted, many things could have happened for the Exarch to be different. Or so I thought before the title of this thread kinda spoiled that ( ' - ' )

Ehh, I dunno if I'd call it a spoiler. After all, like somebody pointed out, I've seen more than a few people who think our Ascian friend is the real bae this expac. ;P

I think the title of this thread itself is the spoiler. I read this title before finishing the expansion, and while I used to question the mysteries surrounding this character, and considered that he might just want to use the WoL, I guessed that he was no villain after reading that he was "the Bae in this expac <3". I'm not thankful.

I don't believe title itself is a spoiler. This topic is for people that are Exarch fans and wants to talk about him. If you want to talk about him or look for information, there are a ton of spoilers in this thread to be expected and thus, "Spoiler Alert". Plus, there is already a foreshadow that he is the nice guy from the moment you met him and so forth. It's not really spoilers that he isnt a villain if he is using you for the greater good like he disclosed from lv 70-73. The very end of 4.0, I thought he was the bad guy until the moment he ran towards me at Lakeland.

What would be a spoiler is if I plastered Exarch's identity in the title input.
