I never said i don´t dps. I said i don´t judge a healing job only by its dps rotation...Ah, the vicious cycle begins. If we're lucky, AST/SCH get some potency buffs -- but remember, 4.0 WHM stayed exactly the same with its sorry excuse for a job gauge. Lilies, (which people and their mother defended with their life) pathetic as they are in 4.xx, stayed virtually the same majority, if not, the entire 4.xx expansion.
It's fine if you don't DPS if that's how you find healing fun. The concern is the many other players who DO NOT find that sort of playstyle fun. Playing HP bar pingpong is fine if you actually GET to play HP bar pingpong. But unfortunately, encounters in this game is heavily scripted that the only time you get to play HP bar pingpong is specific times in an encounter or if someone screws up a mechanic. So, majority of the time you're literally just sitting there. Spamming Physick and 1-2 buttons to bide the time. SE thinks this is engaging content for their players as you can see with the many, many, MANY posts that say otherwise.
The point is that a decent healer will dps anywhere from 70% to 90% of the time because healing requirements are low. That's the vast majority of your gameplay. So yeah, DPS (or any other downtime mechanics) should be engaging. Not a one button spam.
If one doesn’t main healer or isn’t comfortable maybe they aren't at that level of play and the changes will not affect them as much. But the actual career healers are going to be upset about such a nerf to their gameplay.
Edit: general “you” but it seemed like I was talking directly to op so changed it.

Now see, that's the thing. Healing is never really the problem -- the problem is the other things you do besides healing. With how encounters have been made in this game, whatever different flavors of heals the classes have tends to already be good enough. What people judge a class on is beyond that -- its what they can bring besides heals. That's where the inherent problem lies aside from the clunkiness of the new changes. Because if healing is just what people judge a class on, then really -- all 3 healers are just different flavors/reskins of a WHM.

It'll be great a few months down the line when you realize having more buttons to push doesn't make the gameplay have more depth.I think healers are horrible so i switched. Now i'm sitting in a queue waiting for someone who enjoys 1 button gameplay. Trying to solve that by switching back to a healer will get me stuck in a loop. Having people other than you to also enjoy healers is the only solution.
You especially picked the wrong job if you wanted something more engaging, as Paladin is about as fun as a three point connect the DoTs game.
PLD has a lot more depth than any of the healer dps kit.
Wait or was that supposed to be a joke? I didnt get it...

play dps class if you don't enjoy healer's dps ,healers main role is healing not dpsing, another thread and you speak only about dps skills on healer skill kit, SCH is still best healer in terms of healing in ShBOh, you enjoy casting Broil II 12-13 times per Biolysis as your entire rotation? And you also enjoy having more Aetherflow stacks than you could possibly spend? That's great! Seems like this update to Scholar was catered to your skillset. If they ever add back Energy Drain or something else, please feel free to continue to press two buttons. I, like many others, would prefer there to be a higher skill ceiling. We're not asking players, such as yourself, to attempt to play above your means. We just want options.

Sure it does. From an objective, technical point, you are correct.
The paladin DPS rotation has more depth than the healer one.
By like one step.
It is a static, one direction flow.
You should have picked something like Machinist, Bard, or Ninja.
Well most jobs have rotations, and, as long as it's somewhat technical one, i'm fine with that. But two buttons is just nooope, i mean, it's not even (121212) like lvl 4 pld has ><

Yep absolutely correct. This game's balance is much better than any other MMORPG and you can play whichever you want and still win quite well. Been playing since 2.0 and 1.0 releases.Historically there has always been a massive balance patch when either normal mode or savage gets released so in 5 days or a little under 3 weeks. I'm optimistic about it, things have been like this before. In heavensward class previews, there was outrage from brd/mch mains who saw the changes to their class. Nothing was changed when early access hit, but when SE realized that everyone was right, they got some big changes 2 weeks after release. The same thing happened with stormblood sch and war except they were fixed 4 weeks in on savage release. While the developers have made pretty questionable design choices many times, they've usually been pretty good about listening to player feedback. Thank heavens this isn't blizzard we're dealing with.
I don’t think SE needs statistics from Savage Content to make adjustments to AST right now.... SCH and WHM will have more light shed on them through out the raid tier, but AST is already at such a huge disadvantage, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a major overhaul, similar to WAR at the start of SB.
