-deep sigh- Why do people .. no.. I see why people instantly get pissed when tanking. I'm leveling gun breaker and I get to Doma castle. I'm feeling good but I tell my group that I'm learning the job, and off I go. I pull the standard on the first pull but I didn't notice my healer wasn't with me. The first wipe I'll take fully. Not a problem. I also note my gear wasn't at 67. It was mostly 65 with some 66 pieces and 2 63 rings. I was VERY unlucky in drops and being broke I don't have the money for those rings. Fair enough... but after the first boss I pull til the 2 dogs and stop. Cause I don't want to wipe again. The bard and sum run off and pull past that. I didn't even see them until they come running back with another set. I try to take them off but me and the healer die. THey try this again and we die again. Look I get that you may be super bad ass but I'm 1. learning... and 2. if we wipe from too many mobs.. why are you trying to pull MORE? Either way that was the worst dungeon experience I had and I wanted to vent I guess.

I'm willing to admit I'm NOT the best tank and willing to admit I'm noob with Gun. I wished that went better.. cause that SUCKED.

Had a bad mentor healer try to say I was a bad tank when I died repeatedly on the first big pulls. Rather should I say regular mentor healer? Dohn Mheg. I told them off obviously, probably was a little meaner than I should have been. Trying to tell me I was "bad", or "to use cooldowns". One I shouldn't have to use ALL of my cooldowns on a trash pull, two I did use my cooldowns - including arm's length. I have ran this dungeon more than enough times to know if I die on one of those pulls, and this is the first time I ever have, it is not me it is YOU, the healer. Use walking dead and still die, give me a break. I waited for the kick at the first boss, and obviously they did kick me. Requeued again, got an in progress group right where I left off ironically, did big pulls NO issues whatsoever, none. Great second group.

Please take off your mentor crown. You aren't an actual "mentor". Better yet remove the system entirely.

This right here. Friend of mine complained that people were pulling ahead of him. I told him to shirk the offender. He did so, let them die, and firmly told them, "You wanna tank, then queue up as one."

It's weird to see tanks lose aggro nowadays. I mean you gotta be really bad to manage that.

I wouldn't believe it if it hadn't happened to me.

Doma Castle, PLD was new. Everytime there's more than one mob, aggro would bounce between DPS and healer. I pointed it out to him to use Total Eclipse combo and for him to watch the aggro but I might as well talk to a wall, even when I jumped around him with add attacking me. Only one time I saw him use Total Eclipse combo and that's for the bunch of drones in beginning and even that somehow managed not to catch aggro at all causing one DPS to fall to dangerously low HP. I abhor kicking, but I initiated vote kick after 2nd boss which went through.

I'm still learning it myself, but I manage ok. but every now and then i get people like that and I'm tempted to just let them die with the aggro they gained. Its fine to get frustrated when people act like that.

Look, if they have a problem with the pace maybe they should learn the value of patience once in a while if you asked me. I've done runs with big pulls that take as long as runs with small pulls because the dps didn't quite get it together to help output damage. I've had big pulls in doma castle that make the run take just 15 minutes flat. but people need to stop rushing, you just random qued and you have no clue who you just got. Stop trying to tank for the actual tank if someone wants to play it safe then just play it safe? I dunno its manage to get me to 80 with a total death count lower than 35 as a tank.

Plus, and this is just a thought, they need to consider that every death eats time to get back to the spot you died. after 2 wipes you've lost any time advantage big pulling gets you. yes its that much. plus any mobs that survive heal, meaning you lose MORE time. points on the infuriation if this crap goes sideways at the boss door as that's basicly the walk of shame distance. at any rate don't let it eat you. learning is the least fun experience with players sometimes that's all.

OK, so this one is some days old. I was doing the Shadowbringers MSQ and had to go I into Malikah's Well for the first time. I went as WHM and everything went well until we did the last Boss. A DPS died during that one laser mechanics and as I was trying to rezz him, I failed and died because I kind of didn't recognize that I had to wait for the Boss to do that as well. So the Boss had about 25% left, and I got up again, because there was no DPS left to rezz me. So, walking the way back to the Boss and arriving, I see the PLD still going. The other two DPS arrived next to me, PLD is still going. Meanwhile the Boss is at 11%, PLD does everything with ease until it went down. It was a really nice show watching that PLD solo the last few percent of this boss.

GNB's are seriously starting to get on my nerves.
People need to start gearing for the dungeons the are planning on going into, or maybe just like.. going into older content to learn the class.



What was sad is that this person had multiple level 80 classes. It's not like this was his first tank either that he used. He just decided "Nah, I don't need gear. I'm going to have as much HP as the DPS!"

Thank God when you grab the class they give you some iLvl 255 gear.

This was in a level 60 dungeon.

People can call me petty all that they want and go on about how '' it doesn't matter, pugs ain't optimal ''.
But PLD's spamming Clemency when I heal are driving me insane ( and GNB's popping Superbolide after I've used big heals on them, bringing them back to 1 ).

You're not going to die just because your health drops bellow 80-70% hp.
It honestly feels like taunting at times or as if they think that I am awful and that they're going to die, and even when I tell them politely that they don't have to use it and can focus on dps instead they cuss me out and get rude about it.
It doesn't actually help me use Holy more, because I have ogcd heals and you don't and I don't actually need to spend gcd's on keeping you alive. So no, you're not helping o_o.

I've had a lot of bad experiences with this in Shadowbringers and I dunno why, maybe it's just new people or something but people have been spamming it like crazy and have been very rude about it when I point it out.
I might sound rude myself atm but that's because of the thread that I am posting in and tbh I am a bit bitter about it atm.
When I actually tell people in-game I am not rude.

Sure, you can play the game however you want I guess ( altho it's an MMO, other people depend on you and you're slowing the rest of us down. If you want to '' play however '' then play a singleplayer game? ).
But to me you're like a BLM spamming Freeze in AoE.

I dunno what it is about this... I honestly don't care how people play outside of this.
I just mind my own business, if the tank wants to pull one group at a time and is slow then I don't really care and if I see a BLM who clearly isn't playing very well then I don't say anything and I don't care.
Same with healers who don't dps at all and only heal, I don't say anything and it doesn't bother me.
But there's something about Clemency spamming PLD's that triggers me... Every time that I see Clemency as I am healing it's like someone poking me in the eye <_<...

I am obviously NOT talking about PLD's who use it when it's necessary.
There's a difference between a good PLD who knows when to use it and genuinely saves their own life and a PLD who uses it the moment that they drop bellow 80-70% hp.

Wow, the first thing I did after unlocking the class was run to Idyllshire and buy the Shire Accessories and upgrade it. I left those two in the woods like a good hour. Same thing with DNC a little while later. Still haven't touched them outside that.

Anywho, on topic. Leveling DRG. Raiden Thrust has made me realize the butt isn't as big as I thought it was. And the flank is larger. I thought it was a good 1/4 all around, but I keep missing the proc even when I feel like I'm on it's butt. I haven't tanked yet, that's next. But is it really that hard to hold the first boss of the 75 dungeon in place? It runs to the middle to do it's mechanic. And you have to re position it, but do you have to keep repositioning it?

Here's a funny one. Back on SCH, queue for Expert and get the final MSQ dungeon. Arrive at the final boss, tank explains that we can fall off and standing in this spot when an attack goes off will make us fall. Smash cut to me and the two DPS standing in the bad and falling off.

When it uses Apocalypse you have to stand on a platform at the edge. After that it starts glowing and it'll fall out the next Apocalypse. Funny thing is, I fell off during my first run and didn't know what happened.
