Make gender locked items in Mog Station tradeable for their equivalent item

Wow, thanks for taking the time to write such an elaborate answer with your experience. So, from your seeming "futuretelling" capacities, would you say this is something they might take into consideration and that I could promote in some way. People on Reddit didn't seem too interested and I guess this is the best place for visibility. Thanks.

I would love this... but doubtfully SE will do, mostly because:

1) Less profit for them if players just need 1 version of the item
2) Players that got both versions would demand refunds, this might be seen as a problem

You're right on the first point, but, on the other hand, you also have people on this thread saying they will not buy Fantasia because of this and probably refusing to buy items for the same reason.
The second point coul be more controversial, but they might find a a way to compensate those players. At the end of the day, it's an improvement for every player and a feature for the game against a compensation to some players.

However, if they decided to make every item available for both genders, that wouldn't be a problem. That isn't the topic we're dealing with, though.

How about just no genderlocking... That and not making the same armor look different between the genders.

That would be the ideal solution, of course, but as I have just mentioned, that isn't the issue we are discussing. I guess this would be a patch in the meantime because the other solution seems a bit less feasible to me since this system already exists, albeit somewhat outdated.
