OP: How do you get that scene? I never got that!
For me, the real bae of the xpac was Ardbert. I wanted his light all through the MSQ, & then finally he gave me his ax. It was a special moment. *dreamy sigh*
I just like G'raha more and more as the story goes on. Even in the Crystal Tower storyline where he went from seeming like an annoying character from his introduction, but he got so much better and I really liked him by the end... and here he is THE BEST and I'm looking forward to seeing where he goes from here in the story, now that he can be open with us about who he is and why he's doing it.
As I said in another topic, it's not a romantic interest, just a friendship - but I really just wanted my character to give him a hug in that ending scene to comfort him and thank him for all he did for us.
I loved that detail!
I feel like rather than "extra effort for those who did the raids", the dialogue options unlocked by completing the Crystal Tower are the intended canon version of events, but they've been forced to accommodate the possibility that people haven't done the non-mandatory quests. If you don't enable the ability to reflect quest progression while rewatching the cutscenes in the inn you get a taste of what his dialogue is like if you didn't run the CT raids, and I have to say that it just makes me all the more appreciate of the effort they went in to code dialogue for those of us who did those raids.
I watched one of the two other options for the emotional-climax "good to see you awake" line, and it just felt so flat. The whole emotional point of the scene can't be carried out, because the WoL needs to know who G'raha is and what happened to him when they previously met - and that can't happen if the character hasn't reached that point in their timeline yet.
Haha, yes - even without the concealed identity, that's a very complicated question to answer!
That scene around the same time with us sitting on the cliff and talking together was lovely too.
Oh, G'raha is voiced by a singer in Japanese? That's cool. There's random trivia in his lorebook profile that he has a 'beautiful singing voice' and it makes sense if that's actually an in-joke.
(The lorebook also notes that he was originally assigned to the Crystal Tower expedition to ensure they "did not unwittingly rouse aught with the power to endanger the course of history", which is just a little bit ironic....)

Thank you for this gif, it's lovely! My favorite moment of the expansion, hands down. G'raha Tia has become one of my absolute favorite characters. I hope that SE add him back as a trust eventually... I know he was just a placeholder, but still... I love him...If you don't enable the ability to reflect quest progression while rewatching the cutscenes in the inn you get a taste of what his dialogue is like if you didn't run the CT raids, and I have to say that it just makes me all the more appreciate of the effort they went in to code dialogue for those of us who did those raids. His reactions to being called his name are so heartbreaking...
Exarch was cool all things considered. Guy could really use a hug and some vacay.
Emet... nah fam. One's past can offer insight, but is shouldn't be used as an excuse for actions taken. And no matter how sad it was, visiting the same devastation upon 7 worlds so you can have your own back is a bit of a deal breaker.
He was pitiable and an excellent villain, but he was still the kind of man that brushed off condemnation for killing countless millions by simply saying that they were subhuman and therefore had no right to life. He only accepted the Warriors of Darkness as worthy stewards after their leader became 9/14ths of one of his closest friends and killed him by conjuring a Bravura of Light and throwing it through his chest.Exarch was cool all things considered. Not sure why so many people seem to think "I love this character" = "I endorse and support all their actions"
Partially because Final Fantasy is a series with a history of fans justifying actions such as murder and destruction all because their villain husbando is an anime looking pretty boy.
Ardbert was sweet too. That must be one hell of a moment for you at the end of MSQ. xD
And which scene? The one where I shot him? Remember where you had to do some kind of game with the minning dwarves? And you have to shoot the dwarf that isnt wearing the same uniform as them? Well, I decided to look around my surroundings some more leaving the odd dwarf for a second and saw "Crystal Exarc" as a caption option... and I was wondering if he was shootable... And so I shot him and he gave me that caption... LOL
It was so brilliantly done and I cannot express enough how much I deeply admire the incredible work they put into these scenes. By the way, when this particular scene played, I literally hand my arms open towards my large screen and said... "come here and hug it up!".
"After ten years, finally headed to Sharlayan... absolutely stoked"
