you can try but some party can see your "trick" and will vote to kick you out, i got dc in the middle of it and when i come back, i already got booted.

I think that was less a statement of "not participating" and more "90% of Praetorium is a movie". And even the parts that aren't have a fair amount of downtime, like the first part of Ultima Weapon where you're standing around waiting until it can actually take damage.
