    No Battlecraft Leves...Again

    I'm utterly convinced now that we're no longer going to be getting this type of content going forward. Which is sad as it gave players something to do outside of hunts, fates, and crafting in the Overworld.

    There was potential with HW's Temple Leve's, but SE dropped the ball hard with that. Idk, maybe it's due to time restraints and the amount of time and resources it would have taken to add the content which is why we most likely won't get them anymore.

    Does anyone know if it was officially stated that they were moving away from Battlecraft Leves?

    I think we can safely assume that SE has indeed abandoned Battlecraft Leves alas. Really they no longer serve a purpose anyway as we have new ways of levelling, thus consigning Battlecraft leves to the 'obsolete 1.0 content' category (originally in 1.0 battlecraft leves were the only quests you really had - questing was limited to the main scenario and sidequests did not even exist).

    As we now have sidequests, repeatable content such as Beastmen quests and even other methods of levelling such as the Deep Dungeons, no doubt SE just decided that it was too much effort continuing to support leves into new expansions and so just quietly dropped them, only keeping the crafting and gathering ones out of simple pragmatism, given how few alternative forms of levelling there are for Disciples of the Hand and Land by comparision.

    Also lorewise it doesn't make sense for there to even be leves in places like Hingashi as it was an Eorzean innovation connected to the founding of the Adventurer's Guilds - needless to say this sort of thing would not exist in the First either.

    It's simply too obsolete. It's fine in ARR while you work your way towards unlocking content. But by Stormblood and beyond, there are just so many other better things you could be doing.

    And before anyone tries to suggest "just tune the rewards to make it more worthwhile," there's just no reasonable way of doing that at this point without putting something else in a similar state.

    And, of all the things available, personally, leves are probably the best option to let fall by the wayside.

    Palace of the Dead and Heaven on High were the replacement for Battlecraft Leves though.

    However I do feel like SE should just redesign that system, because if you're not a DoL/DoH all your leve allowances are just... there. Gathering dust. Not only that but I have a lot of crafter and gatherer friends that don't even bother doing levequests anyways, so saving a rare few the system is kinda just there for whatever reason.
    Unless those allowances can be used for something else I'm unaware of.

    I thought I read somewhere at some point that the devs stop doing BattleCraft leves because the players were not doing them.

    It was a waste of developer resources that they allotted somewhere else.

    Pretty sure they said it was a balance issue of time investment. They said that for stormblood because the heavensward ones had a 10 leve lumps choice or single. The 10 leve lumps were only about 2x the exp of the single leve and weren't good for leveling.
